2 - Space- Behavior System Explanation in Proportion of Program Necessity and Freedom (Case study: National Library and Library of the University of Tehran In Between Spaces)

Designing seems to be based on acceptance of minimal programs and proportion of functional levels or as the common discourse calls it »physical plan«, serves as the focal point of its for-mation, and the quantitative proportion of level to individual plays an important role in its de-sign and evaluation. Meanwhile, interpretations of the quality of the space, experience and event concerning the conventional and standard quantities can not be seen, something which seems to be a result of reductive and simplistic outlooks in line with modernist currents and incomplete education of the concepts of this current and dissemination of the tendency toward an international style. The present article intends to develop a post-modern framework for an outlook toward func-tion in designing and show that a transition has occurred from functionalism to programming which accepts a fuzzy spectrum of necessity, freedom and pleasure. In this situation the de-signer comes across a problem whereby he (she) has to prepare a lot of options and make some decisions in order to meet a variety range of the needs of his (her) audience, however, the de-signer’s technical know-how is not often sufficient for analyzing the reality and future predic-tion and eventually organization of the human systems. In order to change the program into the design, the designer has to make some orientation and options in programming. The de-signer is faced with the variables of the problem, their significance as well as acceptance of the changing situation and growing variables on one hand, and human’s behavior, quality and life style on the other. This complication aggravates when the audience or user of the space plays an active role against the author of the space or the architect, hence a confrontation and chal-lenge take place. Explanation of the term »environmental design« which contains the behav-ior- space system refers to the inseparable aspects of biological and non-biological human sys-tems. The objective is to prepare the ground for the synergy of these two systems toward a proper system of correlated variables in the designed space. Taking advantage of indirect measurement and using the model of ideal type of design, this article tries to study the situation of in between space syntax so that users would take more freedom and pleasure in the space through categorization, registration and mapping of the proportion of optional and necessary activities in the spaces of National Library and Library of the University of Tehran. According to the studies and analysis of the data extracted from ob-servations, the results of the research reveal that the proposed mechanism of designing the in between spaces at libraries toward rendering a better function includes: 1. Prediction of the open in between spaces at a place with most adjacency to other functions, since the more con-tradictory or indifferent the relations between functions are, the more effective they would be. 2. Design of the closed in between space so that it enjoys a high visibility along with a high spatial scale. 3. Provision of subsidiary function to in between spaces. Manuscript profile

Although it seems a little bit strange at first to compare Khayyam, the 5th century AH poet with the contemporary French writer André Gide but there are similarities between them as much as there are differences. The concept of gaining pleasure in life and enjoying its moments is central to Khayyam’s mind and poetry. By contemplating the works of André Gide especially “Fruits of the Earth” one understands that they also include similar themes. Thus the present article examines the literary-philosophical trends of these two poets which have a lot in common in this regard. This article tries to compare the works of these two scholars to clarify their intellectual attempts in promoting the idea of gaining pleasure and seizing the day and in parallel it attempts in explaining the ideology of a French writer and an Iranian poet while exploring how Khayyam’s poetry has affected the themes applied by André Gide. Anesthesia is a rhetorical and artistic technique which develops and enriches the poetic images through transferring senses by switching from one sense to another and leads to creating innovative and affective images. Anesthesia is a technique of literary devices and is considered both as a subdivision of figure of speech and rhetoric. Mixing senses in creating unique literary images and transferring the poetic atmosphere play a significant role in reciting a poem. Due to increasing the literary pleasure through absorbing the audience, accurate transferring of internal feelings and involving the audience with the poet’s spiritual experience, this literary device is of high importance in Persian and Arabic literature, especially among contemporary poets. Because of the high frequency of anesthesia usage in Arabic and Persian poetry, the present study tries to analyze descriptively and analytically this literary device in just Ahmad Bakhit, an Egyptian poet, and Nader Naderpour’s poetry. It is observable that both poets employed anesthesia to expand the audience’s imagination, increase literary pleasure, to innovate poetic images, and successfully transfer the inner feelings and the poetic spirit. Based on the analysis of the samples, it can be said that anesthesia has intensified the pure image- making, meaning transfer, affecting the audience, and poetic beautification. Manuscript profile

Romance is a literary genre that seems to be tied with European literature. Western scientists first have representedits definitions, types and features. In this paper, we study three romantic poems"VeisvaRamin" (Veis and ramin),"GolvaNorouz"(“Gol and Norouz”)and  “JamshidvaKhorshid” ("JamshidandKhorshid") from different poets to clarify similarities and differences infeatures of this literary genre with what western scientistshave presented for European romance. According to the fact that romance includes different types from primitive and pastor to adventure and police films and postmodernliterature. Surely, comparing Persian literatures from different centuries, some changes in dominance of some motifs are certainly recognized in some works. These motivesexpress general direction and differences of romance in Persian literature. As we can obtain from this limited project, epic and miracle features are more faded in Veis and Ramin; two other poems i.e. “Gol and Norouz” and “Jamshid and Khorshid” are more adventurous;  “Veis and Ramin” is more romantic. Chivalry and hero sanctification faces that are feudalistic features can be observable in “Gol and Norouz” and in none of these works, searching for treasure and killing dragon has been considered as main purpose.   Manuscript profile

The aim of this study was to investigate the predictive contribution of nostalgia proneness, mental pain and temporal experience of pleasure in perceived stress reactivity. The research method was correlational and the research included all students with romantic breakup at Saveh Islamic Azad University. From this community, 162 students with symptoms of love trauma were selected using purposive sampling method. They were asked to fill out the questionnaires of reactivity to perceived stress (Shulz, Jansen & Schlotz, 2006), nostalgia proneness (Havlena & Holak, 2006), mental pain (Orbach & Mikulincer (2003) and temporal experience of pleasure (Gard, 2006). Data analysis was performed using Pearson correlation and stepwise regression. Findings indicated a negative role of confusion and emotional turmoil (dimensions of mental pain) in increasing reactivity to perceived stress (p<0.01) and a positive role of nostalgia proneness in reducing reactivity to perceived stress (p<0.01). Therefore, it can be seen that regardless of the negative role of the feeling of emptiness in intensifying people's reactions to stress, it is the past positive experiences and feelings that can, as a psychological source and support, improve people's conditions in stressful situations. One of the fundamental concerns of humanity since its inception has been the question of the meaning of life. Meaningfulness has two connotations: purposefulness and value. Certainly, the meaning of the meaning of life depends on the type of worldview and perspective of each philosopher. The present research seeks to examine the answer to the question of whether pleasure is related to meaningfulness or not. Does pleasure require pleasure to achieve the meaning of life? This research compares and contrasts the theories of Aristotle and Mulla Sadra on the relationship between pleasure and the meaning of life. In this article, the descriptive-analytical method is used to analyze the concepts. The most important philosophical bases that distinguish and differ between these two philosophers are the question of equivocation of existence. Aristotle does not believe in the equivocation of existence. From Aristotle's point of view, pleasure and happiness are a constant for all human beings and he does not believe in different levels of pleasure. He considers happiness to be limited to this world and exclusive to the rational part of man. He considers the way to reach meaning to be limited to the realm of virtue. However, Mulla Sadra, based on the principle of equivocation of existence, believes that pleasure has different levels, with intellectual pleasure being superior to sensory pleasure and being higher in terms of rank and existential dignity than the world of sense and matter. Mulla Sadra considers happiness to be related to the physical and spiritual dimensions, so Mulla Sadra believes in comprehensive happiness. He considers the way to reach meaning to be wisdom, imagination, and inner forces. He considers the way to reach happiness to be a human voluntary action. He considers the true example of happiness to be in the afterlife. Manuscript profile

Abstract        Mystical ethics, as one of the strict and profound moral approaches, with its rich and comprehensive anthropology has provided a necessary and sufficient streamline to pose the moral commentary to achieve the highest  ethic teachings. David Hume, a Scottish philosopher, is of the experimentalist school pioneers who considers the ethics in an important stance and even appeals him in the higher level. It has been tried in this essay, to study the relationship of mysticism of anthropology with ethical commentary focused on Hume's aesthetics. Since morality and beauty are both based on the feeling of taste, then are of the same quality. Hume believes that whatever as a result of exquisiteness creates pleasure, is considered preponderance. Therefore, the distinction between virtue and meanness is pleasure and toil. Beauty, as the writers of this essay believe, is of the significant ideas in exposing the ethics in Hume's philosophical system. Manuscript profile

There is no thinker like Omar Khayyam Neishaboury. Likewise, there is no poetry which invites us as much to dialogue, discussion, and translation as his Quatrains.       I would belive that the study of Khayyam's notion should be based on the corpus of his authentic Quatrains.       In order to distinguish the Quatrains that were written by khayyam from the derivative ones, it is necessary to separate all of them by studying all this writings and comparing those Quatrains with the authentic ideas snd believes of khayyam which we withdrew from our study on all his works.       In this paper  constraints are introduced for identifying khayyam's authentic Quatrains. with the aid of these parameters,  Quatrains which play a key-role in khayyam's thought were selected. On the basis of these results, it was possible to re-evaluate the understanding of khayyam's thought in European and Western Studies on this subject, from his own lifetime until the present day.    Manuscript profile
