Abstract[1]Green tea extract which contains high amount of poly phenols is known as effective anti-oxidants due to anti-bacterial and anti-virus effects of poly-phenols. The main objective of this study was to compare the effects of lowring temperature (3-5 oC), Green Tea Extract (GTE) (800 ppm) and Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) (condition 50:5:45 for N2:O2:CO2) with normal or Aerobic packaging (AP), on the chemical and sensory characteristics of SCM within refrigerated storage. Results of Peroxide Value showed that all treatments can effectively protect SCM against oil oxidation, compared with AP, after 4 days. Using MAP and/or GTE treatments reduced the Free Fatty Acid (FFA) formation ratio, because, in contrast with AP treatment, FFA increased significantely (P<0.05), only after 16 days storage. Thiobarbitoric Acid Reactive Substances (TBARS) of AP samples in 16th days was 2.51±0.21 mg that was upper than accepted limits. Effects of GTE treatment on TBARS increasing was not significantly different compared with AP (P>0.05). pH trends was ascending and GTE and MAP treatments had no significant effects on pH increasing. According to sensory evaluation, MAP had higher total quality score compared with GTE treatment and showed no significant difference with MAP+TE during storage. Combined treatment (MAP+GTE) was selected as an effective method that can extend the shelf-life of SCM up to 4 days at refrigerated storage.*Corresponding authors; fnoghani@yahoo.com Manuscript profile

In the present study, the effects of releasing weight on reared silver carp's growth and survival, as well as, its hematological indices were assessed. For this purpose, first eight 3-hectares ponds were divided into four treatments based on fishes' releasing weight equal to 2, 3, 4 and 5 g, then sampling from these animals was periodically done and the hematological indices were measured. At the end of the trial, the average weight of fishes (g) and total production of each pool (kg) was calculated. The results of the measurement of blood parameters indicated that the hematocrit percent was significantly increased following the releasing weight enhancement (P<0.05), but any statistical relationship was seen between the stocking weight and other blood indices (P>0.05). Furthermore, the growth and survival findings signified, whereas after releasing the weight of fishes, their final weight and growth rate were enhanced, the special growth rate was reduced statistically (P<0.05). Hence, based on present results, it will be achieved proper growth whenever silver carps are stocked 12000 individuals with 5 g weight. Manuscript profile

The aim of this study was to evaluate the toxicity effect of Cadmium heavy metal on some serological parameters of Silver carp which have been in the vicinity of cadmium for a short term. In this study a total of 135 fish with mean weight of 50±10grand mean length of 13±1cm were placed in 9 aquariums of 90-liter capacity, in contact with 0.5 and 10 mg/L of CdCl2.Sampling of fishwas done randomly every 12 hours until 96 hours from caudal vein. The results showed that, the level of triglyceride in 24 and 48 hours decreased significantly, but showed no significant increase in 72 hours. The level of cholesterol increased significantly at 72 and 96 hours with increasing the concentration of cadmium (P<0/05). Glucose level increased significantly in 72 hours, but significantly decreased with increasing the concentration of cadmium in 72 and 96 hours (P<0/05). The level of total protein decreased significantly in 24 and 96 hours with increasing the concentration of cadmium, and in 72 hours increased significantly (P<0/05). The level of albumin increased significantly in 96 hours.  Based on these results, biochemical parameters are useful for monitoring of cadmium acute toxicity in Silver Carp. Manuscript profile

The aim of this study was to evaluate the toxicity effect of zinc heavy metal on some serological parameters on Silver carp in the vicinity with zinc in short term. In order to do this study a total of 135 fish with mean weight 50±10gr and mean length 13±1cm were located to adjacent to 0.5 and 10 mg/L of Zn (NO3)2 in 9 Aquarium with 90 liter of capacity.Sampling of fish  was done randomly each 12 hours until 96 hours from caudal vein. The result showed that the level of cholesterol in 10 mg/L treatments in 96 hours were significant difference with 5 mg/ L and control treatments (p<0/05). The results showed that the minimum amount of cholesterol in 10 mg/L treatment in 96 hours was (10.83±0.2 mg/ dL) and the maximum amount was found in 5 ppm treatment in 48 hours was (102.7±22.7 mg/dL). Mean triglyceride fluctuated, so that the maximum amount of  triglyceride was found in 10 mg/L treatment in 12 hours (93±14) mg/dL) and the minimum in 96 hours in 5 mg/L treatment was (24.4±2 mg dl). By increasing the concentration of zinc. albumin level were increased significantly. The minimum amount was found in control treatment which was (0.73±0.14 g/dL) and the maximum level in 5 m/g/L treatment at 96 hours was (9.03±0.6 g/dL). Total protein levels were decreased significantly (p<0.05). The minimum amount of total proteins in 5 mg/L treatment at 96 hours was (0/043±0/003) g/dL, and the maximum amount was at 12 hours in 10 mg/L treatment at (3/53±0/3)g/dL. Based on results, Hematological and biochemical parameters are useful for monitoring of Zinc acute toxicity in Silver carp. Manuscript profile

One of the toxic pollutants in aquatic ecosystem is heavy metals. This study aims to elucidate the toxic impact of zinc on the structure of gill and liver in silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix). This study was conducted at spring 1390 at the International Sturgeon Research Institute. In this study, after adaptation, 135 fish with the length of 13±1 cm and the weight of 50±10gr were put in one control group and 2 treatment groups contained 0, 5, and 10mg/L (Zn (NO) 3)2 in 90 liter aquariums. Fish were sampled at 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. The samples of gill and liver in each treatment were immediately fixed in Bouin solution and 5μ sections were stained by Hematoxylin-Eosin general staining method. In histological study of gills, epithelial cell hyperplasia was encountered, that had increased with high metal densities. Initially lamella cells wrinkled and change of formation was observed in chloride cells. This lesion enhanced in higher densities. Fish liver exposed to zinc showed atrophy, cloudiness, swelling, hyperemia, vacuolation and necrosis. These hepatic alterations were more evident in fish exposed to high metal densities. In conclusion, the present study showed that histopathology of liver and gill in silver carp, is a useful biomarker for environmental pollution, since it discriminated between reference and test sites. This study aims to elucidate the toxic impact of zinc on hematological indices of the farmed Silver Carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix). In this study, after adaptation 135 fish specimens with the length of 13±1 cm and the weight of 50±10 gr were put in one control treatment and 2 experimental treatments contained of 5 and 10 mg/L (Zn (no) 3)2 in 90 liter aquariums. Blood samples were taken from the caudal vein after 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. Results showed that, hematocrite (Hct), hemoglobin levels (Hb), mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) increased significantly (p<0/05). The number of White Blood Cell (WBC) on 5 mg/L and 10 mg/lit treatments until 72 hours decreased significantly but after 96 hours it increased significantly (P<0/05). The number of Red Blood Cells (RBC) decreased significantly until 96 hours (P<0/05). According to the results, blood parameters were sensitive factors in monitoring the toxicity and the stress caused by zinc particularly in acute concentrations. Manuscript profile
