Inroduction & Objective:The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of aerobic training with resveratrol supplementation on regulatory and executive factors of cardiomyocytes apoptosis in streptococci diabetic male rats Material and Method:In an experimental study, 50 male rats were randomly divided into 5 groups of 10 healthy controls, diabetics, resveratrol supplements, aerobic training and complementary resveratrol + aerobic training. Diabetes was induced by single injection of streptozotocin, ml / kg. The program of exercise, exercise and supplementation groups began for 8 weeks and 5 days a week on the training of Treadmill. All animals were completely and similarly treated, followed by 14-12hours of fasting and 48 hours after the last training session, anesthetized and sacrificed. After cardiac output and homogenization, the concentration (GPX, SOD, and MDA) was measured as ELISA.  Results: After induction of diabetes, the concentration of GPX and SOD in the cardiac system was significantly lower than healthy controls, while MDA concentration increased significantly in these conditions. However, exercise interaction and resveratrol had a significant effect on the concentration of cardiac SOD, while the interaction of these two effects there was no concentration of MDA and GPX in the heart. Conclusion: Aerobic exercise and resveratrol have a beneficial effect on cardiac apoptosis in inducing diabetes, but their interaction is not significant in the process of cardiac apoptosis. Of course aerobic exercise and resveratrol can be used as complementary medicine for protecting myocardial cells against the invasive induced apoptosis induced by diabetes. Manuscript profile

Introduction: Nesfatin-1 and Apelin as two inflammatory adipocytokines affected by various stresses, including exercise. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 14 days of resveratrol supplementation on changes in serum levels of Apelin and nesfatin-1 in response to one bout of exhaustive exercise in young sedentary overweight men. Methods: 20 young sedentary overweight men (mean aged= 35.7±3.26 years, BMI= 28.73±1.18 kg/m2) selected and randomly divided into two groups (experimental and control). Subjects in both experimental and control groups participated in one bout of exhaustive exercise (Bruce Test). Then, subjects in experimental group (supplementation) consumed one capsule of 400-mg resveratrol per day for 14 days. In control group (placebo), subject consumed one capsule of 400-mg lactose per day for 14 days. First blood sample was taken before the study and second one was done immediately after Bruce test. At the fifteenth day and at the end of 14 days of supplementation, subjects in both groups perform the exhaustive exercise again and forth blood sample was taken immediately following their performance. According to t-test, in the experimental group and following supplementation, changes in serum levels of Nesfatin-1 were significant in response to one bout of exhaustive exercise. However, following supplementation, there were significant differences between mean changes of Apelin levels in response to one bout of exhaustive exercise in experimental group compared to control group. According to Pearson correlation, there existed significant correlations between primary levels of Nesfatin-1 and primary values of body weight. Manuscript profile

Drug therapy of cancer which is carried out by natural, synthetic or biological substances is associated with complications. Cisplatin as an anticancer drug, is hepatotoxic at high doses. Oxidative stress has been proven to be involved in cisplatin-induced toxicity. Because of antioxidant potential of resveratrol, this study was conducted to assess the protective effects of resveratrol, on cisplatin-induced hepatotoxicity in the rat. Forty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four equal groups. Group 1 was used as control. For induction of hepatic injury in groups 2-4, cisplatin (3 mg/kg) was injected once every five days intraperitoneally. Groups 3 and 4 received silymarin (100 mg/kg) and resveratrol (20 mg/kg) respectively, daily for 4 weeks via intraperitoneal route. At the end of experiment, serum levels of aspartate and alanine transaminases, lactate dehydogenase and total bilirubin, albumin and total proteins were assessed. Malondialdehyde, reduced glutathione and activities of superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione peroxidase and glutathione reductase were assayed in liver homogenates. Finally, the biochemical findings were matched with histopathological verification. In group 4, resveratrol significantly (p<0.001) decreased the elevated levels of serum biomarkers of hepatic injury and total bilirubin, and significantly (p<0.001) increased the reduced levels of serum albumin and total proteins. In this group, resveratrol significantly (p<0.001) decreased the lipid peroxidation and elevated the decreased values of hepatic antioxidants. Histopathologically, the changes were in agreement with biochemical findings. The results obtained showed resveratrol, because of its anti-oxidant potential, exerts a protective effect against cisplatin induced hepatotoxicity in rats. Manuscript profile

Myocardial infarction affecting the mechanical, electrical, structural and biochemical properties of the heart, accounts for one of the causes of death in developed countries. The aim of this study was to evaluate the protective effects of resveratrol on isoproterenol-induced acute myocardial infarction in rats. For this purpose, fourty male Wistar rats were randomly allocated into four equal groups including: 1-control, 2-resveratrol treatment, 3-Isoproterenol treatment and 4-Isoproterenol plus resveratrol treatment groups. Isoproterenol (85 mg/kg) was administered at two consecutive days with 24h interval subcutaneously and resveratrol (20 mg/kg) was administered intraperitoneally for 30 consecutive days. Finally, blood samples were collected for measurement of cardiac biomarkers, creatinine kinase-MB (CK-MB) and lactate dehydrogenase. All animals were euthanized for histopathological examination and the assay for myocardial antioxidant status, by measurement of malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) levels. Microscopically, myocardial tissues of the isoproterenol treated group showed severe degenerative and necrotic changes, while resveratrol alleviated myocardial necrotic damage. Levels of SOD, CAT and GPx decreased significantly (p<0.01) in the isoproterenol treated group, but increased significantly (p<0.05) in the isoproterenol plus resveratrol treatment group. Resveratrol significantly (p<0.05) decreased MDA levels which was increased by isoproterenol treatment. The results showed that resveratrol due to its antioxidant properties protects the cardiac tissue of rats from isoproterenol-induced ischemic damage.  Manuscript profile

AbstractAntioxidants are first line of defense against the oxidative stress produced during high intensity exercise. Since, obesity is also related to imbalance of oxidative- antioxidative system of body; purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 14 days of resveratrol supplementation on changes in serum levels of ceruloplasmin and malondialdehyde in response to one bout of high intensity exercise in sedentary overweight young men. For this purpose, twenty sedentary overweight young men selected and randomly divided into two groups (experimental and control). Data analysis was done using repeated measures ANOVA, and paired t-test, and P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Finding showed 14 days of resveratrol supplementation had significant effect on serum levels of ceruloplasmin in response to one bout of high intensity exercise (P=0.043). It seems that 14 days of resveratrol supplementation has a significant effect on the improvement of function of antioxidant system of body in in sedentary overweight young men. Nevertheless, further research is necessary to understand the mediated mechanism.  Manuscript profile
