Purpose: Elderly is a critical period of human life and awareness of the mental status of the elderly and effective psychological interventions can lead to the attainment of this period's mental health. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral group therapy on psychological symptoms (depression and psychological well-being) in the elderly. Methodology: This study was a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test design with experimental and control group. In a quasi-experimental study, 24 elderly women referred to Yas and Arman Shayan home rehabilitation centers in Tehran in 1396 were selected by convenience sampling method and randomly divided into two equal groups (12 patients each). Were. The intervention group received training in cognitive behavioral group therapy and the control group did not receive any training. The research tools were Elderly depression questionnaires and psychological well-being. Data were analyzed by SPSS-22 software using multivariate analysis of covariance. Findings: The findings showed that CBT improved depression and psychological well-being in older women (P <0.05). This finding meant that the intervention led to an increase in psychological well-being in older women. On the other hand, a look at the values of significance level, chi square and test power showed that the intervention was effective and meaningful in the experimental group and its effectiveness was 0.43%. Conclusion: According to the findings of the study, CBT can improve hopefulness, lack of meaning, and decrease in elderly women by improving symptoms and negative psychological reactions such as depression, feelings of loss and loneliness. Anxiety of death and improving their attitude towards the future and themselves. Manuscript profile

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of teaching coping skills according to CBT based on positive psychology on happiness of the students with adjustment problems. It's an experimental study with pre-test, post-test. Introduced by teachers, performing tests and screening, among first- high school girl students who were at the age of 15-14 and had adjustment problems in 1393-94 in Sari, using multi-stage random sampling, 40 students were selected randomly and by using random arrangement, 20 were placed in the experimental and 20 in the control group. The data were collected usingOxford Happiness Questionnaire. The experimental group received Coping skills training according to CBT based on positive psychology(Freudenberg, 2010b) for 14 sessions (two sessions per week 1/5 hours), while the control group had no training. Analysis of covariance demonstrated a significant difference in happiness between experimental and control groups at post-tests which shows that coping skills training with positive-oriented approach can be an effective intervention method for increasing happiness and therefore more effectively serve students with adjustment problems. AbstractThe purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of modular cognitive behavior therapy (MCBT) on tolerance of uncertainty, loneliness and risky behavior in martyr students. The statistical population of the study consisted of all female high school students who attended high school in Shahid Khorasan Razavi in Torbat Heydarieh during the academic year of 1397-98. The statistical population was selected based on available sampling method and based on the score of three questionnaires of uncertainty tolerance (Fristen et al., 1994), the questionnaire Loneliness (Russell & Ferguson, 1995) and High Risk Behavior Questionnaire (Shafie, 1391). In the pre-test, 30 people who had entry and exit criteria were selected as samples. The 30 subjects were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups of 15. The experimental group received 10 sessions of 90 minutes of modular cognitive behavior therapy and the control group was on the waiting list. Also, for analysis of data, one and multi-variance analysis of covariance analysis was used and to accelerate the results of SPSS-22 software. The results of this study showed that modular cognitive behavior therapy (MCBT) of the process unit significantly increased uncertainty tolerance and decreased loneliness in martyr students, but did not significantly affect the high risk behaviors in students. Background and Objective: Considering the high prevalence of test anxiety and its negative effect on achievement performance, so far various methods of psychological intervention have grown. This study aimed to assess the impact of mindfulness-based techniques in reducing student’s anxiety was conducted. Materials and Methods: The present study after random assignment of 11 subjects in the experimental group exposed to training mindfulness-based techniques and 11 subjects in the control group, by experimental pre-test - post test with control group design was conducted. Spielberger Test Anxiety Inventory (STAI) for assessment of subjects test anxiety was used. Results: To examination research hypothesis and analysis of results, data statistically was analyzed by analysis of variance method with repeated measurements in a 2 × 2 design. Comparisons showed significant differences (p> .001) between test anxiety scores in two groups following conduction of interventional methods, so that the experimental group has been shown significantly decrease in the level of Test anxiety compared with the control group. Conclusion: The results of this study, consistent with the research hypothesis indicate that group training sessions of mindfulness-based techniques causes significantly reduction in students test anxiety.
