The main aim of the present librarian research is to study the behaviors with slaves in Nezami's Quinary (Panj Ganj) and Uncle Tom's cabin novel by Harriet Beecher Stowe. Nezami and Stowe's perception and view point to slaveholding is affected by their societies' public view point; by studying the behaviors of lords with slaves, two different and public views are faced: in America's late 20th centuries, the slaves did not benefit the least human rights and they behaved the most abhorrent way; but in Nezami's Quinary inhuman and merciless behavior is not seen much; because the slaves had comfortable lives beside their lords and even sometimes they have been counted as family members. On the other hand there are cruel behaviors in some cases in Nezami's Quinary as well such as humiliating slaves and violence. In Uncle Tom's cabin novel set the slaves free and being kind to them by the lords shows human's enlightenment. Manuscript profile

Traditional societies had a patriarchal structure at the beginning of the modern era. The extent of patriarchal norms and the domination of what Michel Foucault called the "regime of truth" in the traditional epoch tried to consider women as an object and in this way to keep women under men's control. Women's resistance to patriarchal hegemony and the fate of women's resistance to the domination of this ideology in literary works has become a point of confrontation between the New Historicist Stephen Greenblatt, and Cultural Materialist Alan Sinfield. The former believes that women's opposition to the dominant discourse and patriarchal ideology is ultimately digested by the dominant ideology. On the other hand, Sinfield and other cultural materialists are optimistic about the outcome of this confrontation. According to them, women's resistance to patriarchal ideology demonstrate dissidence being incorporated, necessarily, with reference to dominant structures and it can ultimately lead to the discontinuity of patriarchal hegemony. This study aims to explore the consequence of women's resistance in the folklore tale of "Khaj and Siamand" based on the New historicism and Cultural Materlism readings. The former considers that women's resistance is suppressed by the ruling hegemony while the cultural materialists assert that challenging the patriarchal hegemony yields questioning the patriarchy. Thus, woman is no longer a passive object in the hands of male-dominated ideology, but she becomes an active subject. Women can make their own identity and rule their own destiny. Manuscript profile

In this paper the Wednesday story from Nezami’s Haft Peikar has been analysed based on the Gilbert Durand theory.     The analysis of mentioned story, have lead to extending the Gilbert Durand theory to a more comprehensive framework as such scientific theories have dynamic and extendable characteristics. According to the Gilbert Durand’s patern, sometimes the main course of text is about the daytime imagination and sometimes it is about the nighttime imagination and sometimes alters between both of them. From Durand’s point of view, in the ideal situation both clusters must be in the text. But in this story we encounter an interesting and prominent situation and that is when nighttime cluster turns into daytime cluster. It seems that Durand has not encountered such situation, because in his categorization we cannot find such a category of transforming one cluster to another. Manuscript profile

The literary genre of narrative poetry plays an important role in communicating with audience and is vital in preserving and transferring history and culture of a nation. Poems of The Noon of the 10th Day by Aminpour, The Tale of the Petrified city by Akhavan-Sales and The Footsteps of Water by Sepehri are the bases of analysis in this study. The present study formed on the basic enquiry as to how the syntactic and semantic role of “adverb and adjective” is in the three poets’ thoughts formed, what beliefs are transferred and what the stylistic parameters are. The current study implemented descriptive-analytical research method and by means of “modality in adverb and adjective” measured poet’s thought reflection in text and his positioning by analyzing the function of adverb and adjective in text. The outcomes of this study indicates that idealistic thoughts, realism and morbidity flow in these poems. These new genres of lyrical literature are considered as “subtype and as lyrical literature derivatives”. The Footsteps of Water and The Noon of 10th Day are “realistic and affective” in style but The Tale of the petrified City is “realistic” only. Aminpour’s orientation in poetry theme is an upfront one but the orientation of Sepehri and Akhavan-Sales are upfront and hidden at the same time. Manuscript profile

Amir Pazvari is the most famous native poet of Mazandarani dialect, whose poems have been the subject of research by popular literature enthusiasts and researchers. A poem called "Amir and Gohar" has attracted attention among the romantic poems of native Mazandaran literature with the publication of Amirs and poems attributed to him under the name "Divan Amir Pazvari" in the last decade. Therefore, this essay aims to discuss Amir and Gohar according to the characteristics of romantic poems. Criticism and analysis of research shows that the legend of Amir's meeting with Imam Ali (A.S.) is the foundation of the poem named Amir and Gohar. Amir and Gohar are among the legendary characters; But the events revolve around the meeting with Imam Ali (A.S.) and do not indicate the course of the story and romantic events. In fact, there is only one legend about Amir and Gohar, and contrary to the expectations of researchers and lovers of popular literature, there is no poem with this name in Mazandaran. From the verses and couplets attributed to Amir Pazvari by describing feelings to "Gohar", only non-narrative poems can be imagined; Because, only a short section of Amir and Gohar's life is represented in the poems, and since there is no story and romantic history of Amir and Gohar, the story cannot be placed in the framework of romantic narratives. Shāhnāmeh of Ferdowsi, as the valuable work of epic literature, shows collection of cultures and beliefs of Iranian people from the farthest times to the era of Ferdowsi. In this book, Ferdowsi narrates the story of Iranian kings and heroes from mythological to historical times; it is a collection of beliefs, cultures and rituals that kings, heroes, natural elements and animals are its actors. Elephant is among these actors. All the epic, mythological and ritual motifs related to elephant are not mentioned in Shāhnāmeh, so in order to achieve a comprehensive overview of the animal, inevitably, other Persian epic books, written after Shāhnāmeh and affected by it, should be studied. By using comparative-analytical approach, the authors of the present article try to extract, classify and analyze the motifs of elephant and its related themes in Shāhnāmeh and other ten epics including Bānūgoshasp-nāmeh, Borzu-nāmeh, Bahman-nāmeh, Jahāngir-nāmeh, Sāmnameh, Shahriyār-nāmeh, Farāmarz-nāmeh, Kok koohzād, Kūsh-nāmeh, and Garshāsp-nāmeh.  The most important motifs include: Ahurian-Ahrimanian motifs, elephant totem, killing elephant by hero, metamorphosis to elephant, presence of elephant in army, its role in games, interpretation of dreams and so on. The concept of "persuasion' has a special place in mystical and religious texts. It has a more important role than the concept of "waring" and is a means of indirectly guiding public opinion. The present essay examines the subject of persuasion in Haqiq al-Haqq or Aina-i Haq Numa (Truth Showing Mirror), composed by Abd ul Latif Chishti. In this versified book, the poet attempts to attract the sālek (the holy traveler) to theistic mysticism and to immortalize the name of his own sect, the Chishtiye. By using the analytic-descriptive method and based on new linguistic methods and inspired by the functionalist theories of Jacobson and Lasswell, the present article tries to examine the subject of persuasion in the five areas of environment, stimulus, audience, reward and content. The results show that the use of figures of speech has brought the book a lot of literary value and the proper and frequent use of persuasion, as an educational method, has added to its educational richness. The myth-ritual theory is based on the anthropological perspective and believes that the life of myth is related to the presence of religion. According to the theory, every myth is an interpretation of a religious ritual and an oral narration of a ritual. In the passage of time, rituals are transferred to epic texts and thus represent the function of repeating archetypal values. The findings of the present research show that "the hero's trial", which has been the subject of many epics in the world, is one of the clear examples of representation as well as repetition of myths; it opens a way for man to return to the eternal time and place; and it causes the hero to become strong by knowing "the rituals of learning of secrets". The current research was done with analytical-comparative method and based on the myth-ritual theory. The presence of the ritual of "the hero's trial" in Persian epics (composed in the Islamic period) refers to a religious ritual and tells how the ritual was established in ancient times by gods and heroes. Examining some of the epics makes it possible to clarify how these trials were conducted and, in addition, it also provides the ability to classify them. Manuscript profile

Hiding the name or revealing it is one the prominent themes in epic literature. The aim of present research is studying the concept of "name" and revealing or hiding it in Shānāmeh, heroic poems and tūmārhā-ye naqqālī (notebooks of storytelling). By using library and content analysis methods, these works have been examined. The results show that in confronting enemy the heroes choose one of these three methods: in 25 cases, the heroes reveal frankly their own name.  In 5 cases, they confront their enemies with a forged name, and only in one case they refer to their epithet and honorific title. Apparently, these methods are in contradictory but not so if examined carefully. All three methods have a mythic and ritual origin revealing the role of name in the beliefs of ancient Iranians. In the past, some people believed that name is an important part of man's being and if his name is revealed to his enemies, he will be spellbound and defeated. So, in confronting the enemy, the heroes tried to hide their name or used a forged one. But, some other heroes believed that if the enemy utters their name that will enforce and excite the enemy to attack, so the heroes pre-empt and shout their own names and the enemy will be intimidated. The third aspect is that epithet is not a living part of the hero’s existence. So while refraining from revealing the name they could refer to their epithet facing the enemy. Manuscript profile

According to one of Iranian myths, Khvarenah (splendor or Farrah) separates from Jamshid in the disguise of a Warghan (Symorgh or falcon) and is released to Mitra, Fereydoun and Garshāsb. It is one of the ancient mythological underpinnings that has a strong reflection in Iranian mythology, epic and story-telling texts (naqqali). A mythological underpinning undergoes a variety of alterations- based on the temporal and spatial context- in its journey from the world of myth to the logical sphere of epic so that it would appear rational to the minds of readers. Then, in changing from epic to folk literature, has been transformed in accordance with the taste of people. Therefore, a mythological motif distances thematically from its origin to such an extent that it is difficult to locate its roots. In the present article, the attempt is made to consider the nexus of Jamishid’s talisman with separation of his Khvarenah and its releasing to Garshasb in the following heroic poems and story-telling scrolls (tumār): Sām-nāmeh, Garshāsb-nāmeh, Bahman-nāmeh, Farāmarz-nāmeh, Jahāngir-nāmeh, Shahryār-nāmeh, Tumar Naqqāli Shāhnāmeh, Tumār Haft Lashkar, Tumār Kohan Shāhnāme Ferdowsi, Tumār Shāhnāmeh Ferdowsi, Zarrin Qabānāmeh, Tumār Sāme Savār va Dokhtar Khāqān Chin. According to the authors of this paper, the attempts of Sistani heroes to open the talisman of Jamshid and to get the treasure or the sword embedded in the talisman are symbolic representation of releasing the heroic splendor (Khvarenah) from Jamshid to Garshāsb and it is presented as a metamorphic form in heroic poems and story-telling texts (naqqali). Today, one of the necessities in the Islamic society is to strengthen social capital in order to achieve the goals of the political system. In the meantime, one of the concepts that can be mentioned as the basis of social capital to achieve other goals in society is public trust. In this research, while explaining the theme analysis method and using the theme network analysis technique, the number of 306 data of the main text of Ayatollah Khamenei's statements on the topic of public trust was carefully analyzed, and at the end, 5 main themes were used as components of the model of public trust in the statements. He was obtained. The purpose of the article is to discover the central themes of ways to strengthen public trust through the theme analysis model in his intellectual system. The results show: social capital in the Islamic society was determined as an area for laying the groundwork for development. Abstract It is obvious that the lyrical verses of Persian poetry represent the most cultural patterns and signs of civilization. Examining these stories from the perspective of cultural anthropology (whose main foundations are popular culture) is a new approach to them and introduces researchers to two options: one is to investigate people's culture in the content of the stories and Another cultural influence is the narrator according to the culture in which he was raised, and this applies to all the stories that have different narrators. In this research, the various literary and cultural knowledge hidden in the Kurdish popular literature "Beit" will be compared and analyzed with the systems of classical Persian literature, especially where the structure and content of these works are related to the principles of storytelling. If it matches, it can be a valuable work in the field of cultural anthropology studies. This research describes and analyzes the cultural components from an anthropological point of view in the poem "Mehr wa Wafa" in classical Persian literature and Kurdish folk literature narrated by Mam Ahmed Lotfi. To achieve this goal, a descriptive-analytical method has been used. The findings indicate that most of the anthropological components have appeared in this system, and the amount of similarities is greater than the differences, and this indicates the intertextuality between the Persian and Kurdish systems. Another is that the Kurdish narrations of the story, although in terms of generality, theme and concept, are in accordance with the Persian narrations of the same name, but both in form and content, especially the changes and transformations of mystical, epic and lyrical culture. It is in different periods. Manuscript profile

Persian romantic verses as texts composed over the centuries have common characteristics which upon their structural analysis one can analyze their    inter-textual connections. Attempt is made in this article to describe the farewell scenes of lovers in order to arrive at their common converse in these texts, since the main theme is love and this fundamental feature confers a mutual function to the lovers’ death.  According to the inter textual theory, the texts with common theme in different historical periods are interconnected and their images, descriptions and their poetic thoughts are emanated from a common language even if at first they seem distinct.  This common language provides the logic and the basis of the colloquy and living in such circumstances.  In other words the language of love necessitates that farewell scenes have common language and ambiance although differences arise in accordance with the story and the relationship between the lover and the beloved.  In one place, after the death of his beloved, the lover stands by her grave and weeps till his own death. And in other place, he opens his chest with a dagger.  It is such that in studying the farewell scenes one arrives at the subject of synchronic death of the lovers.  The focal point in these verses is the bitterness and the dilemma of separation which the lovers cannot tolerate and shortly after the other say farewell to life and end the dialogue of love. Likewise, there is no poetry which invites us as much to dialogue, discussion, and translation as his Quatrains.       I would belive that the study of Khayyam's notion should be based on the corpus of his authentic Quatrains.       In order to distinguish the Quatrains that were written by khayyam from the derivative ones, it is necessary to separate all of them by studying all this writings and comparing those Quatrains with the authentic ideas snd believes of khayyam which we withdrew from our study on all his works.       In this paper  constraints are introduced for identifying khayyam's authentic Quatrains. with the aid of these parameters,  Quatrains which play a key-role in khayyam's thought were selected. On the basis of these results, it was possible to re-evaluate the understanding of khayyam's thought in European and Western Studies on this subject, from his own lifetime until the present day.    Manuscript profile
