Natural disasters, including floods, have been on the rise in the last two decades, especially in Asia and Iran, due to the rampant urban development that has accompanied the global warming crisis. This is extremely significant given the extensive human and financial damage it causes. Makran or Makuran, located on the southeastern coast of Iran, is a developing region that is of national strategic importance and has attracted the attention of global investors in recent years. As a result, assessing the vulnerability caused by floods in this area can be effective in reducing human costs, especially financial management before the accident and reducing the adverse effects. Background and Objective: Today, urban planners have become interested to consider sustainable development in their planning. Evaluation of ecological capacity for urban development in order to select appropriate locations is the main factor in sustainable development. In this study, it has been attempted to evaluate the ecological capacity in order to determine the best possible regions for urban development in Baghmalek district by applying a combination of Analytical Hierarchy Processes and geographic information system. Method: In order to achieve this objective, first we recognized the effective criteria in urban development using the previous studies and by collecting opinions of the experts by Delphi methodology. Finally 5 criteria and 12 sub-criteria were selected. Then, we determined the priority of the criteria against each other by pairwise comparison method and by applying Analytical Hierarchy Processes. Finally, the required information layers were valuated based on fuzzy logic in environment of Geographical Information System (Arc GIS 10.2), the calculated weights were applied on them and ecological capacity map was prepared by weighted overlaying the layers. Results: The results indicated that %46.65 of the studied area has a completely unsuitable potential, %39.62 has an unsuitable potential, %12.27 has an average potential, %1.17 has a suitable potential and %0.29 has completely a suitable potential for urban development.   Conclusion: According to the classification of the final map, it was concluded that the prone areas for future physical development in Baghmalek district can be further expanded in the northern part. On the other hand, Southeast and East directions because of having mountainous regions, face with more restrictions for future development.                                                                                                                                                            Manuscript profile

Heavy transportation plays a leading role in the construction and development of infrastructure of industries. Consequently, transportation of heavy, expensive equipment has drawn the attention of many organizations around the world. This paper proposes a multicriteria decision-making model to assess the performance of firms dealing with the logistics and transportation of heavy equipment. First, a number of evaluation criteria were determined by reviewing research works in this area, interviewing experts and using the Delphi method. Afterward, a panel of experts compared the evaluation criteria, and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to determine the relative importance of the evaluation criteria. Then, Fuzzy Technique of Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (Fuzzy TOPSIS) was utilized to assess the performance of firms active in the area of heavy equipment transportation. Finally, the assessment procedure was conducted by ELimination Et Choice Translating Reality (ELECTRE). A case study of firms active in the heavy transportation within oil, gas and petrochemical industries in Iran was used to implement the proposed multicriteria framework. Results of both Fuzzy TOPSIS and ELECTRE methods showed that the A7 organization is the leading one in the transportation of heavy industrial equipment. In addition, both these methods provided a similar ranking of other organizations active in the transportation of heavy industrial equipment. Manuscript profile

Flood-prone areas are of great importance in order to control the resulting damages, store runoff and increase underground water reserves. In this regard, it is possible to use advanced spatial methods to identify flood-prone areas and use its results in urban management planning. The purpose of the present study is to identify flood prone areas and flood potential zoning of dayyer County in Bushehr province using hierarchical analysis in GIS environment. For this purpose, based on the most important effective factors in creating floods and their weighting, the Analytical Hierarchy (AHP) method was used. After preparing the weighted maps and analyzing the criteria, by overlapping the layers, a flood zoning map was prepared and presented in dayyer County. Based on the results, the extension of the northern and northeastern elevations to the east of dayyer County and the middle elevations of the city and its center have a high flood potential. The results showed that out of the total area of 2306 square kilometers of the studied area, 204 square kilometers are in the very low vulnerability category (8.8%), 563 square kilometers are in the low vulnerability category (24%), and 694 square kilometers are in the medium vulnerability category (5.5). 30 percent), 583 square kilometers are in the high vulnerability class (25.2 percent) and 262 square kilometers are in the very high vulnerability class (11.5 percent). Considering that more than 50% of the area of the region has a medium to high risk of flood potential and the areas with a very high risk also constitute a significant area of the region, Therefore, it is necessary that flood-prone areas be the focus of urban management planning. Iran is one of the most vulnerable countries in the field of natural disasters, especially earthquakes. Being placed on the Alpine - Himalayan orogeny belt and the presence of active geologic and plateau have all made the earthquake as a potential danger. Meanwhile, since most of Iran's population live in metropolitan areas, this fact has raised the need for safer urban spaces. One of the most important urban spaces in this regard is Tabriz. The location of this city on the active faults of the region, especially the Tabriz fault, calls for the adoption of urban safety approaches. This article in terms of target is applied and the method is a descriptive - analytical one. To conduct this research, the hierarchy analysis process and Arc GIS software have been used. In this regard, 12 criteria were identified and processed in both natural and human sections and an earthquake risk map was prepared. In this regard, 12 criteria were processed in two distinct natural and human sections and an earthquake risk map was prepared. The results showed that the central, west, and southwestern regions with an area of 13969.6 hectares (more than the half city's area), 59.3 percent of the city, are in high risk of seismic zone and are quite susceptible to earthquakes. Only the northern parts of the city are secured from the earthquake; but considering the fact that the depth and domain of the earthquake are not limited to a specific area, the earthquake in the northern city may occur too. Therefore, the commitment to construction regulations, location of urban development, living spaces, and activities in this metropolis are all important factors. Manuscript profile
