Abstract :
The smartification of cities is not just about increasing technology and mechanization, but a city is smart when it is intelligent and optimal in all social, cultural, economic, environmental, and governance aspects. Using less energy resources and achieving more efficiency are necessities of smartifying cities. This research investigates and ranks the indicators of a smart city in Shiraz. For this purpose, the opinions of 384 people, including professors, city officials, and citizens of Shiraz, have been collected. Six main components including smart economy, smart transportation, smart citizen, smart environment, smart life, and smart governance have been examined. The present research method is library-based and questionnaire-based. Given the specialized nature of the discussion of intelligence and its feasibility requirements, the extracted questionnaire has been completed with the cooperation of professors and experts in this field and the opinions of the people. Therefore, descriptive-analytical research methods and based on the use of statistical methods using SPSS software have been used. The results show that the city of Shiraz needs improvement in smart actions in various fields. However, some components, including smart economy and smart people, have performed relatively better. This research helps city officials and planners to improve urban conditions and the quality of life of Shiraz citizens by promoting smart activities.
