Abstract The political and economic influence of Islamic Republic of Iran and European Union in world and regional interaction can provide a suitable ground for expansion of cooperation and integration between the two but during the past three decades the relations between the two sides not only had great ups and downs but in certain period it had been strained. The purpose of the present article is to examine the role of identity elements that affect the relations of Iran and European Union and also the impact of social and identity element as disintegrative factors in relation between the two. The assumption is that after the Islamic revolution the relations between Islamic Republic of Iran and European Union have been influenced by factors like identity, culture, values, norms and inter-subjective concepts. These influencing factors have led to different outlook and viewpoint towards global problems and pessimistic view towards each other which act as disintegrative factor in bilateral relations. The reason is that the values and norms of Islamic Republic of Iran are derived from Islamic-revolutionary identity which has formed after Islamic revolution. On the other hand the European Union values are based on European identity, liberal Western values and secularism.

AbstractAfter the end of imposed war, Islamic Republic has considered geostrategic requirements and interests of Iran in addition to pursuing the Islamic revolution ideology. This paper examines the effects of the attunement between ideology and national interests in promoting the regional status of Islamic Republic through examining its function in the past three decades. Accordingly, the main question is how the alignment of ideology and national interests has been effective in regional empowerment of Islamic Republic? The hypothesis of the article is that changing the system's approach and its actions in accordance with the ideology and national interests of the country has increased the power of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region. The findings of this research, which have been done through explanatory-analytical methods using library and documentary sources, show that it has increased the regional power of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the alignment of ideology and national interests with the emergence of national power and the geopolitical position and redefinition of ideological concepts in macro-decision-making after the end of the imposed war and the beginning of pragmatic policies in the country.

Abstract
The recent wave of developments in the Middle East gave a new place to public diplomacy and soft power in regional diplomacy of the United States and on this basis the structural engineering of Egypt in cultural, social, political and economic aspects was put on the agenda by the American strategist. The present paper by raising this question as to “what has been the public diplomacy of the United States vis-à-vis Egypt revolutionary development after Mubarak till ouster of Morsi?” comes to this conclusion that with the occurrence of recent developments and challenges put to the United States diplomacy machinery, the United States initially tried to take the help of public diplomacy to improve the public opinion of people of Egypt towards herself and keep Hosni Mubarak on its place but with the overthrow of Mubarak, the United States by the help of public diplomacy wanted to direct the future developments of Egypt in a direction that she be able to keep her dominance on groups who are supporter of America and neutral groups. In the next phase after the dismissal of Morsi the United States for managing the crisis of Islamic awakening of people of Egypt put the programme of “public opinion engineering” on the agenda.
