Using the HEART method to identify human errors in the financial sector, affecting the quality of financial reporting and information disclosure

Abstract :

Human error is one of the important issues that organizations are paying attention to today. Human error in the financial sector of organizations can be effective on the quality of financial reporting as the final product of the accounting system. This effect affects the information disclosure of companies. The purpose of this research is to identify the human errors that happened in the financial sector and are effective on information disclosure. The statistical population of this research is the employees of the financial department of the member companies of the Tehran Stock Exchange located in Mashhad, who were employed in these companies in 1403. To identify errors, Hart's method is used as one of the appropriate methods to identify human errors in the service sector. we did The results of this research showed that the most important factors of human error in the financial sector that are effective in disclosing information are: lack of experience in how to carry out job descriptions, complexity of work execution steps with the system, fatigue during work execution due to high volume of work. Inadequate education regarding financial affairs, anxiety during work execution and lack of awareness of how to implement financial instructions. These human errors have a negative effect on the quality of financial reporting and therefore reduce the disclosure of companies' information. By reducing these human errors, organizations can increase corporate information disclosure.
