A Comparative Study of the Impact of In-Service Training on Addressing the Educational Needs and Jobs Satisfaction of Iranian and German Teachers

Abstract :
The purpose of this research was to determine the impact of In-Service training onIranian and German teachers’ educational needs. Based on Morgan table, the population of this causal-comparative study included 196 high school teachers of Tübingen in Germany and 196 high school teachers of Shiraz in Iran who were selected by conducting multi-stage cluster sampling.To answer the research questions, two questionnaires were used. First, the self-designed questionnaire, and second, “Field and Ruth" job satisfaction questionnaire. Their reliability were .89 and .80 respectively. In order to analyze the collected data Man-Whitney test was used. Result of this study showed that there is a significant difference between the mean scores of teachers in Germany and Iran (p<0/01) regarding their educational needs. However, no significant difference was found between the job satisfaction of German and Iranian teachers (p=0/171).
