Abstract :
Social capital is considered as a new concept within the economic and social researches atnational and local levels in the recent decades. The parameters of social capital include“trust, norms, social cohesion and participation”, which have significant role in theformation of this phenomenon in the society. The purpose of this research is themeasurement of the social capital among different academic groups, thus manyapproaches could be presented for the students’ role to increase social capital in bothstructural and cognitive dimensions in order to prevent the consequences of thesocial capital diminution in Iran.The present research is a scientific and practical research with survey recital, as thequestionnaire is the most important used tools. The research findings indicate that thecognitive dimension of the social capital is rather more considered than the structuraldimension, therefore, the structural dimension of the social capital is effectivelysignificant. According to the results, it is definite that the cognitive social capital is moreconsidered than the structural social capital, therefore, the students could have moreparticipationand mutual trust, so that they can increase the social capital structure as much aspossible.
