The Impact of Virtual Social Networks on National Identity (Case Study of Students at Sistan and Baluchestan University)

Abstract :
Introduction and Purpose of the Research: National identity, the main synthesis and specific link between local identity and Common transnational identities. National identity is a set of attitudes and positive attitudes towards identifying elements and patterns and integrated in the state as a political unit. National identity is influenced by several factors, one of the factors that could affect the national identity, are virtual social networks. In this way and with the aim of the present study, Study the relationship between virtual social networks with national identity. Research method: This research survey was conducted among students at the University of Sistan and Baluchestan. A sample of 400 selected according to Cochran formula and stratified sampling has been conducted. Findings: The results show that the variables Join the virtual social network, Internet usage, the use of virtual social networks, the history use of virtual social networks, The sense of freedom in virtual social networks, Type of content sharing, kind Likes and Comments, join the groups, and the type of news they have a significant relationship with national identity. Findings suggest that the underlying variables, the variables age, sex, education, and ethnicity have a significant relationship with the national identity. Conclusion: In summary, based on research findings, virtual social networks are one of the factors that make a lot of changes to user identities, and especially to the national identity of users, and has a significant role in changing the identity of users
