Identification of Competency Management Dimensions for Organizational Agility in Islamic Azad University of Tehran with a Qualitative Approach

Abstract :
Today's organizations are increasingly faced with dynamic and competitive environments and are very effective to make agile organizations of competent and capable employees and managers. The purpose of this study was to identify the dimensions of competency management for organizational agility in Islamic Azad University of Tehran. In order to achieve this goal, a qualitative approach and content analysis were used. The statistical population of this study consisted of 20 faculty members of Islamic Azad University in Tehran. The sample included 10 individuals using purposeful sampling and considering the saturation law. The validity of the research findings was ensured through member checking, peer review, and collaborative nature of the study. In order to measure the reliability of the codes, re-test methods and intra-subject agreement were used. The results indicated that competency management dimensions includes individual dimension (decision making, knowledge and information, personality traits, service, responsibility, ethical values, attitudes and insights); organizational dimension (leadership competence, planning, monitoring and control, goal setting and strategy, technology, customer orientation, change management, crisis management), and social dimension (workgroup, networking, behavior in relationships, internal organization, outsourcing).
