Abstract :
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the place of self-care education in the intended curriculum of experimental sciences. Methods: The research method was a content analysis study with practical goals. The research community was the book of experimental sciences. Descriptive statistics methods were used to analyze the data. The reliability of the data was checked by the Holstein method. Results: In the first category of self-management components, communication skills and information acquisition skills were investigated, and the communication skills component was considered significantly more than the other two components. The second category of individual, behavioral and environmental components was of equal interest. The third category of health maintenance component was more frequent than minor, chronic and acute diseases. fourth category of regulatory component was superior to other components, i.e. preventive, reactive and restoring health. The fifth category of the physical component was more important than the mental, emotional, spiritual, school and community components. Conclusion: According to the results of the research, the homogeneity in the different components of self-care in science textbooks is not observed, and according to these findings, it is suggested to the curriculum planners to review the status of self-care education in science textbooks.
