Abstract :
The present study is a descriptive-survey correlational study that aimed to investigate the relationship between social intelligence and moral behavior in female high school students in Neyriz in the academic year 2018-2019. The statistical population of this study was the total number of female high school students in Neyriz who were studying in that academic year (n=1410).Based on the Jersey and Morgan’s Table, 202 of them were recruited as the sample throughrandom sampling method. In this study, the Tremso Social Intelligence Scale and the Swanson and Hill Ethical Behavior Questionnaire were used to collect the data. The results of stepwise regression analysis showed that the social awareness variable (r=0.336, R2=0.113) was the most effective predictor of moral behavior. This variable was able to explain about 10.8% of the changes in the ethical behavior variable. In addition, the social information processing variable (r=0.399, R2=0.159) was able to explain about 4.1% of the dependent variable of moral behavior. However, social intelligence and social skills had no effect on the moral behavior of the students studied in this study. The results showed that students who have higher social awareness know what is expected of them in social situations and as a result show acceptable moral behaviors.
