Investigating the Behavioral Differences of ADHD Students Compared to other Students from Teachers’Perspective (A Phenomenological Study)

Abstract :
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the lived experiences of teachers in relation to the behavioral differences of hyperactive students compared to normal students in the classroom. For this purpose, a qualitative approach with narrative method of enquiry was used. The study population included all teachers with teaching experience for this purpose. Using purposive sampling method, 15 of the teachers were recruited and interviewed. The data collection procedure proceeded until theoretical saturation was reached. The data collection tool was unstructured interview and for data analysis, qualitative content analysis was employed. The results of data analysis indicated nine themes including aggressive, stubborn, decentralized, talkative, hyperactive, impatient, peevish, lonely, isolated and disorderly. The results of the present study suggested that there was a significant difference in the major behavioral components of hyperactive and normal students.
