This paper studies the production scheduling problem in a hybrid flow shop environment with sequence-dependent setup times and the objectives of minimizing both the maximum completion time and the total tardiness. In the past, bi-objective problems were solved by finding Pareto approximation in the entire problem space (without any restrictions). The limitation in this study is to find Pareto approximation in a specified region. In order to solve the problem, multi-objective genetic algorithm based on Pareto ranking has been used. In the structure of the algorithm, two strategies have been proposed in order to select solutions for archiving and produce Pareto in a certain region. After generating sample problems, the genetic algorithm has been implemented with three strategies (two proposed and one general strategy in literature). The appropriate strategy is based on efficient solutions in the archives. The results reflect the fact that the proposed strategies have shown better performance than the literature strategy. One of the qualities of today's successful companies is competitiveness power and at the same time, a blatant feature of unsuccessful ones is lack of this quality. The main aim of this research is to Identifying and prioritizing contributing factors in supply chain competitiveness in the footwear industry. Data were collected from 82 employees, experts, and managers of Payam shoe firm and examined the impact of four different factors Including green supply chain management, supply chain partnership, sustainable approach to supplier segmentation and knowledge management process capability on supply chain competitiveness. To analyze the data and testing the proposed model in the statistical phase of research, partial least squares (PLS) method, and to prioritizing contributing factors in supply chain competitiveness in the operational research phase of research, FAHP technique was used. The results of the statistical phase of research indicate that “supply chain partnership”, “knowledge management process capability”, “green supply chain management” and “sustainable approach in supplier selection and segmentation” have a significant positive effect on supply chain competitiveness. The results of prioritizing contributing factors in supply chain competitiveness by using FAHP indicate that “supply chain partnership” is the most important factor in supply chain competitiveness and after that “knowledge management process capability” was located in second priority. Finally, some practical strategies for managers are discussed and some suggestions for future research are provided.       Manuscript profile

Due to the competitiveness in tile and Ceramic Industry, the purpose of this research is to investigate the role of knowledge management on the competitiveness of the company through technology-driven strategy in tile and Ceramic Industry. For this purpose, a questionnaire based on the research of Ahmad and Schroeder (2011) was distributed among the managers of Iran's ceramic tile factories and 87 questionnaires for analysis. The findings of Pearson and regression tests via SPSS showed that all aspects of Technology-driven Strategy have a positive effect on competitiveness. When manufacturing companies use all of these three dimensions (active technology status, process and test adaptation, common technology resources) simultaneously in their processes, they can lead to effective competing so corporate executives should have a comprehensive look at these dimensions.   Manuscript profile

In recent decades, the selection of suitable suppliers as one of the important issues in the field of supply chain management is considered. The evaluation and selection of the best suppliers need to make decisions based on different criteria. In this study, a hybrid MCDM approach consists of AHP and VIKOR methods has been proposed that at first paid to identify the most important criteria in the supplier selection based on previous studies and interviews with company executives. Then by using questionnaires, the paired comparisons of criteria and paired comparisons matrix of groups according to the views of managers and based on Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is performed. Next, using a multi-criteria optimization technique (VIKOR), firm's suppliers are ranked. Furthermore, a case study in the automotive industry is applied to accumulate data for proposed framework. Finally, by identifying effective criteria, appropriate suppliers, and similarity of obtained results with other studies, the efficiency of the proposed model is proved. Manuscript profile

Great efforts were made to solve uncertain hybrid optimization problems in the past few decades. The n-Queen problem is one of these problems that many solutions have been proposed for. The traditional methods to solve this problem are exponential in terms of runtime and are not acceptable in terms of space and memory complexity. In this study, parallel genetic algorithms are proposed to solve n-Queen problem. Parallelizing island genetic algorithm and the Cellular genetic algorithm was implemented and run. The results show that this algorithm has the ability to find related solutions to this problem. The algorithms are not only faster but also they lead to better performance even without the use of parallel hardware and just running on one core processor. Good comparisons were made between the proposed method and serial genetic algorithms in order to measure the performance of the proposed method. The experimental results show that the algorithm has high efficiency for large-size problems in comparison with genetic algorithms, and, in some cases, it can achieve superlinear speedup. The proposed method, in the present study, can be easily developed to solve other optimization problems.   Manuscript profile

The management ability affects activities such as R & D, cost, financial costs, assets and firm's income. Their efficiency also depends on these factors. The purpose of this study is to measure the ability of management in the cement industry with a new pattern has been member of the Iranian stock exchange. To do this, data from financial statements of companies at 2012 to 2016 years were used. First, by implementing a suitable model and regional Data Envelopment Analysis model, Relative efficiency for each of the companies is calculated and efficient units also have been ranking with Anderson-Peterson method. Then estimate a regression model, the index is calculated to management ability each of the firms. For evaluating the relative efficiency optimization software GAMS and to determine the ability of management software E-Views is used. We aim to achieve non-inherent ability of managers in units. The results of the research show that the efficiency or Inefficiency of the companies can be related to the inherent and acquired ability of managers. The results indicate that companies that have been evaluated with a score efficiently (For example; Iran Chalk Co. & Ardabil Cement Co.), not simply guarantee for high ability of their managers. While, some companies have been efficiently evaluated the ability of their managers is also high. For example; Khuzestan Cement Co. & Mazandaran Cement Co.  Manuscript profile
