Abstract :

This article investigates the factors that influence the readiness of banks to enter the international market. With the increasing liberalization of financial markets and advances in information technology, the world is experiencing the internationalization of services including banking, insurance, advertisements, accounting, communications, and mass media. The internationalization of banking services has become a major pillar of financial globalization. The study conducted a systematic literature review based on the PRISMA statement, selecting 32 out of 711 studies for qualitative analysis. The findings reveal that there are both systematic and non-systematic criteria that determine banks' readiness to enter the international market, with nine sub-categories and 38 subset codes identified. The article concludes by developing a pattern that explains the criteria for banks' preparation for internationalization. This study is particularly relevant to the banking industry, and the results suggest that researchers are increasingly interested in the field of financial internationalization. The article emphasizes the complexity of the process and highlights the need for in-depth analysis to better understand the factors affecting banks' preparation for internationalization.
