The study of Shahrnagar in determining the areas in need of urban regeneration(case study of the city of Shush)

Abstract :
The existence of a set of urban factors and elements and their mutual actions causes the formation of different urban spaces. The existence of any disorder and damage in each of these elements and factors causes the inefficiency and ineffectiveness of the mentioned spaces. Urban neighborhoods are the most important urban spaces where different functions can be observed. The concept of urban regeneration is one of the latest approaches that have been proposed to overcome the challenges of urban inefficiency in the world. In our country, during the last two decades, special attention has been paid to urban regeneration. The first step towards studies related to urban regeneration is determining the limits of the target. On the other hand, determining the limits of self-recreation requires checking various indicators and measuring them. Different types of regeneration ranges have been proposed. In this article, according to the national documents of the country, four types of target areas with indicators have been studied using GIS software in the city of Shush. As one of the most important historical cities in Iran, with a history of several thousand years, the city of Shush is also considered a religious city due to the presence of the tomb of Daniel the Prophet. Unbalanced development of urban spaces in its different neighborhoods is considered one of the most important urban challenges today. According to the present study, % of the area of Shush city and of its total population are located in ineffective urban areas. In this city, out of 15 neighborhoods, neighborhoods are located in historical areas, worn-out structures, informal settlements, natural and human hazard areas.
