Comparison of the antimicrobial effects of stems and leaves of Daphne Oleoides in spring and summer on the standard strain of Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC25923)

Abstract :
Due to natural, low risk and complication, availability and cost, medical plants are used by peoplemore than synthetics drug. Incidence of drug resistance against chemical antimicrobial drugs make the medicinalplants of using and be noticed in treatment of infections in recent years. The purpose of the research is to studythe antimicrobial effects of ethanol and methanol extracts of Daphne oleoides.Material and methods: After collecting and providing stems and leaves of plants, ethanol and methanol extractsof plants were provided and antimicrobial effects of extracts were conducted by using Disk diffusion andminimum inhibitory concentration of growth in microbes (MIC). The research conducted on standard strain ofStaphylococcus aureus (ATCC25923). The tests were repeated three times and the data were analyzed usingANOVA and DUNCAN tests.Results: Both stem and leave ethanol and methanol extracts of D. Oleoides have antibacterial effects. However,ethanol extract of spring stem showed the most antimicrobial effect on spring stem in two experimental ways.Conclusion: With regard to the results of experiments we can conclude that ethanol extract of spring stem to D.oleoides has the most antimicrobial effect among other extracts that can be considered as a potential source fornew antibacterial compounds.
