Comparing AuNPs-based colorimetric method RT-PCR method for diagnostic of Infectious bursal disease (Gumboro)

Abstract :

Nowadays needs for diagnostic of infectious disease are increased hence development of rapid and specifiedmethods are critical. Methods based on PCR and DNA amplification are routine methods but because of lack ofexpert personal and needs for modern instruments, they are not common and repeatable. Using of nano-particlesare proposed as a novel diagnostic methods. Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are widely used to identifybiomolecules based on their proper Light emission. In this study we developed rapid method for diagnostic ofInfectious bursal disease (Gumboro) using AuNPs and compared it with conventional PCR method. 20 unknownviral samples were analysed by AuNPs-based colorimetric method. Additionally, we evaluated AuNPs assaysensitivity and specificity as compared to RT-PCR which were 80% and 85.71% respectively. Our resultsshowed that diagnostic method based on AuNPs is a rapid, simple, low cost and cost effective and highlyaccurate
