Abstract :
Today, environmental hazards due to waste mismanagement are one of the main problems of the country and this problem is more evident in rural areas than cities. In rural areas, despite the differences between these areas in terms of lifestyle and urban environments, due to changes in people's lifestyles, waste management is an important issue. Environmental pollution and consequently endangering the health of villagers need an appropriate model of waste management based on the existing conditions. The main purpose of this study is to develop and prioritize waste management indicators in rural areas of Khuzestan province. This research is done by descriptive-analytical method and in processing the AHP FUZZY model has been used to prepare the maps. The results show that the index of "segregation from the source of production" with a coefficient of 0.677 in the first priority and then "final disposal of waste" with a coefficient of 0.323 in the second priority are considered the most obvious indicators of waste management for rural areas.
