Abstract :
Language is one of the important cultural issues that there are different views on it in different cultures. Examining intercultural similarities and differences can help to better understand cultures. Educational institutions in societies, as influential elements in culture, are directly or indirectly affected by this issue. The purpose of this article was to identify and compare the similarities and differences between bilingual education in Iran and the United States and Australia. This research is a documentary study with an analytical-comparative approach based on comparative analysis based on "Berdy" method. Research data has been collected through official databases, library documents, research reports and searches on the websites of the Ministry of Education of the countries under study. The research population has been bilingual education activities in selected countries. In this study, countries were purposefully selected. The findings show that bilingual education is more or less present in all three countries, but the United States has officially started bilingual education earlier than Australia and Iran. The findings also showed that all the countries studied have programs for bilingual education, but the difference between them is that some countries such as the United States and Australia have several programs (transitional, immersion and two-way) for bilingual education, but Iran uses only structured immersion.
