Abstract :
Narratology is a noteworthy branch of twentieth century criticism, and the general concept of it is the transition from the initial position to the second position and it becomes the basis for the actors’ actions to take place on. Algirdas Julien Greimas, the semiotician narratologist, has done a lot to provide certain patterns in narratology. His narratology is based on Vladimir Propp's morphology of the tales. The present paper aims to investigate “Story of Akvān the Demon” in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh based on the actantial model of Grimas, and the researchers have studied the plot of the story through his semiotic square approach.
