Abstract :
The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of media literacy skills training on creative thinking and Internet addiction among female high school students in Chabahar County. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test–post-test and a control group. The statistical population comprised all female students in the second cycle of secondary education in Chabahar County during the 2024–2025 academic year, from which 30 students were selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned to the experimental (n = 15) and control (n = 15) groups. Following the pre-test, the experimental group received media literacy skills training over eight 90-minute sessions (twice a week). All participants were assessed before and after the intervention using the Creative Thinking Questionnaire by Peters and Honey (2009) and Young’s Internet Addiction Test (2007). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and one-way ANCOVA via SPSS-27. The findings revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in the post-test phase regarding enhanced creative thinking and reduced Internet addiction. Participants in the experimental group demonstrated higher creative thinking scores and lower Internet addiction levels compared to the control group. Based on these results, media literacy skills training has a positive impact on students’ creative thinking and Internet addiction, and can be utilized as an educational approach to improve these variables.
