Abstract :
The current study sought to investigate the relationship between emotional experiences and transformational leadership style of school principals. The current study was applied in nature and was correlational in design. The population of the study was all the school principals in primary, junior high, and high school levels in Yasouj in the school year 2015-2016. Out of this population, 191 principals were chosen through simple random sampling. Watson and Tegen’s Questionnaire was used to measure emotions; Allen and Meyer’s Questionnaire was used to measure organizational commitment and Bus and Avolio’s Questionnaire was used to measure transformational leadership. The findings showed that those principals who experienced more pleasant emotions made use of transformational leadership style more often. In addition, the findings were indicative of the mediating role of organizational commitment in the relationship between emotions and transformational leadership style.
