Abstract :
Teenager's involvement in all kinds of addictions is one of the most important dangers that affects the whole life of a person and his family. Among the types of behavioral addictions, pornography with the onset of adolescence and puberty is one of the potential dangers lurking in teenagers, and today, due to access to the Internet, teenagers are willingly or unwillingly exposed to pornographic content. The purpose of this research was to compare the effectiveness of pornography addiction recovery training and cognitive behavioral therapy on academic procrastination, psychological flexibility and academic self-efficacy of male adolescents. The research method was semi-experimental with three groups with a pre-test, post-test and follow-up design. The statistical population included all male teenagers suffering from pornography in Isfahan in the spring and summer of 2024. The sample consisted of 60 people who met the inclusion criteria, who were selected in a targeted manner and replaced in the treatment groups in a simple random method. In this research, academic procrastination (Solomon & Rothblum, 1984), and psychological flexibility scale (Akbari et al., 2021) and academic self-efficacy scales were used. The data was analyzed using repeated measurement analysis using SPSS software version 26. The findings indicated that both treatments led to a reduction in academic procrastination and an increase in psychological flexibility and academic self-efficacy among male adolescents addicted to pornography. In terms of psychological flexibility, there was a significant difference between the two treatments (p< 0.01). It appears that specific training on cognitive flexibility in relation to the tendency toward pornography and its underlying factors, which was included in the fourth session of the program, played a role. Additionally, the program addressed combined behavioral-emotional and behavioral-social strategies in the seventh and eighth sessions, and the role of spirituality in the ninth session, providing adolescents with more strategies for enhancing psychological flexibility.
