Abstract :
Introduction: This study aimed to explore the relationship between the extent of using modern communication technologies, media literacy, and moral development among students and faculty members of Payame Noor University, Kerman Center.
Methodology: The research employed a descriptive‑correlational design. The statistical population comprised all students and faculty members of the university. Based on the sample size determination table, 351 students were selected from approximately 3,900 students through simple random sampling, and all 54 faculty members participated due to the small population size. Data were collected using three questionnaires measuring media literacy, use of modern communication technologies, and moral development.
Findings: The results revealed a positive and significant relationship between the use of modern communication technologies and both media literacy and moral development among students and faculty members (p < 0.001).
Conclusion: It is recommended that universities and higher education institutions design training programs and workshops to enhance the ethical and informed use of modern communication technologies. Such initiatives can strengthen media literacy and foster moral development in academic communities.
