Comparing the Effectiveness of Schema Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy in resiliency and Ambiguity Tolerance in Divorce-Seeking Women

Abstract :

the present study aimed to compare the effectiveness of schema therapy and compassion-focused therapy in resiliency and ambiguity tolerance in divorce-seeking women. This study is a semi-experimental ‎research with a pretest-‎posttest and follow-‎up ‎control group design. The statistical population of this study comprises divorce-seeking women who referred to counseling centers in Neyshabur during the first three months of 1397-1398 SH (2018-2019). The statistical sample included 36 of these women who were selected by convenience sampling and were randomly assigned into two experimental groups 1 and 2 (12 subjects) and one control group. Data were Conner and Daidson resiliency Scale (FFS) and McLean Ambiguity Tolerance Questionnaire. For data analysis, repeated measures ‎ANOVA‎ was applied. The results demonstrated that both treatments were effective in the index of resiliency and ambiguity tolerance. The effectiveness of compassion-focused therapy compared to schema in the resilience variable is palpable and significant. but the effectiveness of schema therapy in ambiguity tolerance was greater than compassion-focused therapy (p <0.05).
