Abstract :
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the role of the components of choice theory in entrepreneurship. This research is applied-developmental in purpose and is correlational descriptive in terms of research method. The statistical population of this study was associate and bachelor students of Ferdowsi and Applied Science universities of Mashhad. As the statistical population was uncountable (more than 1000 people), the sample size was determined 384 people by random sampling based on Morgan table. In order to collect data, entrepreneurship assessment questionnaires (Skarborov and Zimmerer, 2006) and needs assessment based on choice theory (Sahebi, 2002) have been used. The reliability of the Entrepreneurship Questionnaire is 0.87 and the dimensions of the choice theory are 0.91 based on Cronbach's alpha coefficient. And their validity has been confirmed by professors and experts. Data analysis was performed at two levels of descriptive and inferential statistics through SPSS and LISREL software. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the components of choice theory and entrepreneurship. And the most relevant component is the need to survive with entrepreneurship at the rate of 0.719. To investigate the extent and the degree of the impact of each component of choice theory on entrepreneurship, the structural equation has been used and the designed model has been approved.
