In the qualitative approach, using the theme analysis of the results of semi-structured interviews with the community of senior IT managers of the bank, the most important competencies were extracted, categorized and approved by experts. In the quantitative part of the research, after weighting and classification of collecting data by the questionnaire, using a mathematical model, an optimal and ranked combination of the most important specialized and general competencies for use in the selection, appointment, the succession of IT managers in four areas of information technology management (Deputy CEO of the Bank in the field of Information Technology, Director of Information Technology, Head of the General Directorate of Information Technology and Deputy Director General of Information Technology) is presented.
