Abstract :
In today's societies, universities and higher education institutions are expected to educate their students in such a way that they can meet the needs of the society in terms of insight, knowledge and effective and appropriate skills in the fields of professional employment and the requirements of personal and social life. Therefore, this research has been done with the aim of providing a model for the education of the global professional citizen in theuniversity. In terms of purpose, application, and research strategy, the research was content analysis in the qualitative part and survey in the quantitative part. The data collection tool in the qualitative part was semi-structured interview and in the quantitative part, a researcher-made questionnaire. In the quantitative part, the faculty members were the units of the Islamic Azad University of Tehran, who were selected by stratified sampling method. The validity of qualitative data was checked and confirmed through review by members, review by colleagues, and review by external observers, and the "reliability between two coders" method was used to calculate the reliability or consistency of the coding done.As a result of the analysis of the qualitative part, 320 open codes, 110 central codes and 16 categories were extracted. Finally, a model containing the link between these categories, which includes 5 dimensions (cognitive competencies, scientific and specialized competencies, cultural and social competencies, moral competencies, and continuous self-development competencies) and 16 components, were identified as the elements of global professional citizen training.
