        An efficient and sustainable method was developed for electrocatalytic multicomponent synthesis of spirooxindole-chromene derivatives via a green one-pot, three component condensations of cyclic-1,3-diones, malononitrile and isatins inside an undivided cell where potassium bromide was applied as electrolyte in ethanol/DMSO (95/5 v/v) media, and a practical Fe-Mn-O composite was used as cathode electrode. The presented electrosynthesis approach proved to be reliable and cost-effective for the synthesis of target compounds in 83-91% yields.         An environmentally friendly, green, and highly efficient process for the synthesis of biologically and pharmacologically 4H-benzo[b]pyrans and 3,4-dihydropyrano [c] chromenes is developed by condensing cyclic aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, and dimedone or 4‐hydroxycoumarin in the presence of lactic acid as an efficient and green catalyst. The corresponding products have been synthesized in 50–97% yield in middle condition reaction which confirmed the excellent catalytic activity of the lactic acid.         In this investigation, new structures based on homoisoflavonoids were designed. Homoisoflavonoids are considered as an important class of flavonoids with various biological properties such as cytotoxicity. A new series of benzylidene-6,7-dihydro-8H-[1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g] chromen-8-one derivatives were developed and their cytotoxic activities evaluated for all compounds on three human breast cancer cell lines. Benzo[d][1,3]dioxol-5-ol was chosen as a substrate and reacted with 3-bromopropanoic acid to form an intermediate which turns to 6,7-dihydro-8H-[1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g]chromen-8-one after Feridel-Crafts reaction with oxalyl chloride. In the end, title compounds were produced by aldol condensation of later compound under acidic condition with aromatic aldehydes in moderate yields. Eight novel derivatives were tested for their activities against all human breast cancer cell lines including MCF- 7, T47-D and MDA-MB-231 using MTT assay. After all tests on synthesized products, we can reach to this point that (E)-7-(3-bromo-4,5-dimethoxybenzylidene)-6,7-dihydro-8H-[1,3] dioxolo[4,5-g]chromen-8-one 4a presents the highest cytotoxicity in all three cell lines as a result of its shorter aliphatic tail in benzylidene moiety. تفاصيل المقالة

        تنش های محیطی از جمله شوری بر میزان و کیفیت متابولیت های ثانویه گیاهان دارویی تاثیر زیادی دارند. در این تحقیق به‌منظور بررسی تاثیر شوری بر خصوصیات فیتوشیمیایی گیاه دارویی شاهدانه (Cannabis sativa L.) آزمایشی در قالب طرح بلوک‌های کامل تصادفی با 5 تیمار شوری (0، 2، 4، 6 أکثر
        تنش های محیطی از جمله شوری بر میزان و کیفیت متابولیت های ثانویه گیاهان دارویی تاثیر زیادی دارند. در این تحقیق به‌منظور بررسی تاثیر شوری بر خصوصیات فیتوشیمیایی گیاه دارویی شاهدانه (Cannabis sativa L.) آزمایشی در قالب طرح بلوک‌های کامل تصادفی با 5 تیمار شوری (0، 2، 4، 6 و 8 دسی زیمنس بر متر) و در سه تکرار در پژوهشکده گیاهان دارویی کرج در سال 1398 به اجرا در آمد. میزان عناصر پتاسیم و سدیم با دستگاه دستگاه فلیم‌فتومتر و کلر به روش رنگ سنجی در اندام‌های برگ و ریشه گیاه و همچنین میزان ترکیبات کانابینوئیدی برگ گیاه شامل تتراهیدروکانابینول (THC[1])، کانابیدول (CBD[2]) و کانابیکرومن (CBC[3]) با دستگاه GC/MS مورد سنجش قرار گرفتند. نتایج نشان داد که تفاوت معنی‌داری (P≤0.01) بین تیمارهای مختلف شوری ازنظر میزان سدیم، پتاسیم، کلر و کانابینوئیدهای THC، CBD و CBC وجود داشت. با افزایش سطح شوری، میزان یون‌های سدیم و کلر در برگ و ریشه نسبت به تیمار شاهد افزایش یافت و بیشترین مقدار سدیم برگ و ریشه (به ترتیب 81/15 ، 06/14 میلی‌گرم در گرم) در تیمار شوری 8 دسی زیمنس بر متر مشاهده شد. همچنین افزایش غلظت شوری سبب کاهش پتاسیم برگ و ریشه گیاه شد و بیشترین میزان پتاسیم برگ و ریشه (به‌ترتیب 83/34، 46/34 میلی‌گرم در گرم) مربوط به تیمار شاهد بود. بیشترین میزان THC و CBD (به‌ترتیب 94/7 و 45/1 میلی‌گرم بر گرم گیاه خشک) در غلظت شوری 4 دیسی زیمنس بر متر و بیشترین میزان CBC در شوری 2 دیس زیمنس بر متر (012/0 میلی‌گرم بر گرم برگ خشک) به دست آمد. بنابراین شوری سبب تغییر میزان کانابینوئیدهای گیاه شاهدانه شده و بیشترین میزان THC، CBD و CBC در سطوح پایین شوری حاصل شده است. تفاصيل المقالة

        Catalytic activity of AlHMS was investigated as a cheap heterogeneous reusable catalyst in some multi-component reactions for the synthesis of various chromenes. Three-component reaction of 2-hydroxy-naphtoquinone with an aromatic aldehyde and dimedone or barbituric acid in H2O under reflux conditions was performed using AlHMS in relatively good yields. The approach was more extended using psuedo five-component reaction of 2,5-dihydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone, two equivalent of an aromatic aldehyde and two equivalent of dimedone or 1,3-cyclohexadione with efficient catalytic effect of AlHMS. Three-component reaction of an aldehyde, malononitrile and 1-naphthole in the presence of AlHMS gave 2-amino-4-phenyl-4H-benzo[h]chromene-3-carbonitriles in high yields. The work-up procedures are very simple, and the products do not require further purification.         In the present study, robust, versatile and straightforward strategy for the diversity-oriented convergent synthesis of a vast range of highly functionalized and biologically effective chromenes is introduced with the reaction of malononitrile, dimedone/cyclohexadione/4-hydroxycoumarin and benzaldehydes in the presence of [γ-Fe2O3@HAp-Si(CH2)3BF4@DMIM] as the catalyst. The structures of all the newly synthesized products were characterized by spectroscopic (FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR) and elemental analyses. This method benefits from several advantages such as using easily recoverable magnetic nanocatalyst, simple workup, short reaction time and excellent yields. The prepared nanoparticles were fully characterized by various spectroscopic, thermal and magnetic analyses.         SBA-15 was prepared and then functionalized with N-methyl-N’-propyltrimethoxysilyl imidazolium chloride as ionic liquid moiety. The ionic liquid functionalized SBA-15 (SBA-IL) was characterized by different analytical techniques including FT-IR, N2 adsorption-desorption, TGA and SEM image. According to the obtained results it was found that the organic groups were grafted onto the pores of SBA-15 because its pore size and BET surface dropped after modification step. Then, it was used as an efficient nanoreactor in the synthesis of biologically active henna based benzochromene derivatives under solvent‐free conditions. Consequently, the catalyst acted efficiently under solvent free system and gave the products in high yields and short reaction times.         The synthesis of pharmaceutically and biologically active 2-amino-4H-chromenes was described using TiO2/nanoclinoptilolite (TiO2/NCP) as an efficient nanocatalyst under solvent-free condition. The TiO2/NCP was fabricated through modification of NCP with HDTMA, then the surface modified NCP was impregnated with titanium tetrachloride solution. Finally, the material incorporated with titanium was calcinated at 500 ºC and was characterized by FT-IR, ICP-OES, SEM, and XRD. The experimental conditions have been completely optimized and established, providing an increase in the rate and high yields. This procedure provides several merits such as a simple workup, economical, environmentally benign, short reaction time and excellent yields.         Sucrose is applied as an efficient catalyst for the three-component reaction consisting of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile and resorcinol in a mixture of water and ethanol media as green solvents. The advantages of this method are excellent yeild, inexpensive catalyst and more environmentally friendly. Mechanistic insight into the synthesis of 2-amino-4H-chromene included spectral kinetics approaches is revealed. From the temperature, concentration and solvent studies, the activation energy (Ea=102 kJmol-1) and the related kinetic parameters (ΔGǂ=41 kJmol-1, ΔSǂ=195 Jmol-1 and ΔHǂ=99 kJ mol-1) are calculated. The reaction was performed in water using aryl aldehydes, malononitrile and resorcinol, phloroglucinol or naphthole in the presence of N-methyl D-glucamine (Meglumine) as a green high efficient catalyst. The reaction was studied in thermal, microwave (MW) and ultrasonic (US) conditions. Obtained results show that meglumine, as a green catalyst, has high efficiency in all reaction conditions and the yield of products (in all cases) is high to excellent.         Functionalized indeno[1,2-b]chromene derivatives have been synthesized via condensation reaction of 1H-indene-1,3(2H)-dione with benzaldehyde and cyclization with 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1,4-dione in the presence of a catalytic amount of triethylamine (Et3N) in EtOH at room temperature. It was observed that benzaldehyde bearing electron donating group gave high yield of product, whereas, benzaldehyde having electronic withdrawing substituent does not participate in this reaction. The structures were confirmed spectroscopically (IR, 1H- and 13C-NMR, and Mass). A plausible mechanism for this reaction is proposed (Scheme 2). Good yields and easy purification are the main advantages of the present method.         Red pine leafs were applied for the green method preparation of MgO nano-plates. The MgO nano-plates were used for the one-pot synthesis of dihydropyrano [3,2-c] chromene derivatives. This procedure is very simple and affords excellent yields. MgO nanoplates were synthesized via a simple precipitation method with the using of an extract solution of red pine leaves. The XRD pattern shows a cubic phase ofMgO . Field Emission Scanning Electronic Microscopy (FE-SEM) shows clearly that the surface of the as-prepared MgO nano-plates have a homogeneous microstructure made up of layers of various sizes and forms. The catalytic activity of nano-peanut shell‑OSO3H was studied in the synthesis of biologically important 4H-pyran derivatives. The reaction involves the use of Kojic acid, 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexanedione, and various benzaldehydes. A wide range of benzaldehydes is compatible in this reaction, producing excellent yields in a short time. In this research, an inexpensive and effective one pot three component procedure with good yields for the synthesis of dihydro pyrano chromenes is reported. In this method, the synthesis of pyrano chromene derivatives was followed by using 4-hydroxycoumarin, malononitrile and aldehydes in the presence of catalytic amount of nano fluoro apatite doped with Mg and Si (Mg-Si-FA). It should be cited that all reactions were carried out in H2O/EtOH as the solvent under reflux condition and the corresponding products were obtained in good yields and pretty short reaction time.         In this research, we report a novel and green magnetic nanocatalyst; Fe3O4@SiO2@Vitamin C@Fe2O3 for clean synthesis of 3-amino-1-aryl-1H-benzo[f]chromene-2-carbonitriles with high-yield in water as solvent at room temperature. The nanocatalyst is stable under the synthetic conditions and it can be reused several times without considerable reduction in its catalytic activity. The catalyst structure was characterized by using various analytical techniques; SEM, FT-IR, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), UV-vis spectroscopy, VSM and EDS. Also, the products were separated and characterized by determining their melting points, IR spectra and compared to those of the authentic samples.         Synthesis of pyrano-pyrazol, pyrano-coumarin, and 4H-chromene derivatives has been achieved by the multicomponent reaction of substituted 1,3-diketo compounds, dialkyl acetylene dicarboxylates and alkyl nitrile derivatives in presence of nano-NiFe2O4. The nano-NiFe2O4 magnetic nanoparticle was prepared by a simple and effective method and characterized by using XRD, HRTEM images, IR, and VSM studies. The green, convenient, and mild protocol provided large access to desired products in almost quantitative yield. High catalytic activity, very low catalyst loading, and high recyclability are the attractive features of the developed protocol.         Two possible isomers of some 1,3-diaryl-H-benzo[f]chromene have been studied using density functional theory. Structures of E1 and E2 isomers were optimized at the B3LYP and MP2 levels with different basis sets. The total electronic energies show that E2 isomer is about 3-5 kcal/mol more stable than E1 isomer and this energy difference is attributed to the planarity of heterocyclic ring and more establishment resonance in E2 isomer, that is confirmed by second order interaction energies E(2) of NBO results. The calculated geometry for both chromene isomers were also compared with the experimental data. The X-ray data indicate the E1 isomer as the stable structure for 1,3-diaryl-1H-benzo[f]chromene, while the E2 isomer is fixed for 3-phenyl-1-p-tolyl-1H-benzo[f]chromene. The compared dihedral angles of both isomers show that phenyl (I) group in E2 isomer has more contribution in resonance with the heterocyclic and naphthalene rings than that in E1, while in E1 isomer phenyl (II) group is more engaged in resonance than that in E2. تفاصيل المقالة

The catalyst being reported here is cheap, safe to handle and the whole procedure is eco-friendly, Milder conditions, one-pot, excellent yields, operational simplicity and ecofriendly preparation are some advantages of this protocol.
