Abstract :
Information accompanied with the technology supporting it is valuable asset in many organizations. As organizations are highly depended on IT, implementing IT effective governance is necessary for them. IT governance areas affecting business are strategic alignment, risk management, performance management, resource management and providing value. Successful performances need a mix of structures, processes and relational mechanisms. At the same time, organizations may need to have different combinations of these mechanisms. The purpose of this research is to prioritize IT governance mechanisms based on focus areas in to choose the most effective one for the implementation of IT governance. The main question of this study is that, for establishing effective IT governance in Saipa, which mechanism of IT governance is more important? In order to answer the question, by using company's experts in the field of information technology and multi-criteria decision-making methods, the weight of IT governance focus areas are determined and then the prioritization of IT governance mechanisms is done by the use TOPSIS method. The results represent that in structures mechanisms, functions of IT governance and committees are of the highest importance. Also, in process mechanisms, the main processes of IT governance and performance evaluation have the highest value. Although relational mechanisms have lower priority, account management, knowledge management and leadership are more significant.
