The aim of this study was to examine the mediating role of self-esteem in the relationship between hardiness and coping styles. Based on a correlation design, a sample of 200 teachers in Tehran from 4 education areas completed Personal Views Survey (Hardiness Institute, 1985) which evaluates three hardy attitudes in terms of a trait, Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (Endler & Parker, 1994) and Multidimensional Self-Esteem Inventory (O’brien, 1988). Findings showed that self-esteem correlated with hardiness and problem-focused coping style positively and with emotion-focused coping style negatively, but it did not correlate with avoidant coping style. In addition, hardiness correlated with all the three coping styles negatively. Path analysis showed that self-esteem has a mediating role in the relationship between hardiness and problem-focused and avoidant coping styles but it does not have a mediating role in the relationship between hardiness and emotion-focused coping style. According to the result of this study, although hardiness does not correlate with coping styles positively but, by influencing self-esteem, it provides the needed motivation for applying problem-focused coping style.   Manuscript profile

The present research aimed to examine the mediating role of fear of intimacy in the relationship between attachment pathologies and sexual disorders. A total of 450 individuals (227 Women, 223 Men) with sexual disorders participated in this study. Participants were asked to complete the Adult Attachment Inventory (Besharat, 2011, 2013), Fear of Intimacy Scale (Descutner & Thelen, 1991), and Golombok-Rust Inventory of Sexual Satisfaction (Rust & Golombok, 1986). The results indicated that attachment pathologies had a significant positive association with sexual disorders and fear of intimacy. Fear of intimacy also showed a significant positive association with sexual disorders. The results of path analysis indicated that the relationship between attachment pathologies and sexual disorders was mediated by fear of intimacy. Based on the results of the this study the impact of attachment on both intimacy mechanisms and sexual functioning was approved. Using these findings in preventing sexual disorders as well as treating sexual disorders in couples can be considered as practical achievements of this study.   Manuscript profile

The study of personal epistemology shows that the combination of dimensions of objectivity and subjectivity is the foundation for understanding high-level epistemology. It is expected that individuals are initially objectivists and attain higher levels of transformation of beliefs to subjectivism, and ultimately promote a combination of objectivism and subjectivism. On the other hand, according to the researchers, the development of beliefs must be considered in relation to specific areas. The hypothesis was that this transformation occurs in a systematic sequence in various aspects of justification (experience, opinion, reason and authority). This hypothesis was accomplished with a sample of 64 students from the third grade to the sixth grade of primary schools in Tehran. The study method was descriptive causal comparative and the participants answered the questions of Mansfield and Clinchy’s Stories (2002). The results showed that there is a significant difference between the various educational foundations in terms of objectivity and subjectivity. So that the students of the third and fourth grades were more at the level of objectivity and fifth and sixth were more at the level of subjectivity. Also, the factor of experience explained 27% of the variance of objectivity and the factors of experience and opinion explained 30% of the variance of subjectivity. Personal epistemology seemed to be a developmental factor Manuscript profile

This study was conducted with the aim of recognizing the role of parenting attitude to literacy in predicting cognitive skills in children between the ages of 5 years old to 5 years old and 11 months. 128 children (66 boys and 62 girls) were selected from Borazjan, through randomized cluster sampling method. The study design was correlational and the children completed two scales of Early Cognitive Skills (Hamnavay-e Avay-e Royesh, 1394) while their parents completed the Home Literacy Environment Scale (Hamnavay-e Avay-e Royesh, 1394). Data analysis indicated that home literacy environment has a positive correlation with early child’s cognitive skills. The results of multiple regression analysis indicated that home literacy environment explains 24% of the variance of early cognitive skills (14%reading-writing skills and 10% math skills) in children, and the parent’s interest in reading subscale (from literacy environment scale) predicts 4% of children’s reading-writing skills. Findings emphasize on the importance of enriching family environment and awareness in increasing the early cognitive skills in preschoolers, and preventing educational downfall in each grade Manuscript profile

The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of two interventions, including Aggression Replacement Training (ART) and Stress Inoculation Training (SIT) on positive and negative cognitive emotion regulation in delinquent adolescent boys. The study design was semi-experimental with three groups and pre-test, post-test and two-month follow-up. For this purpose, 60 adolescents of Tehran's Rehabilitation Center were selected using available sampling method and randomly assigned into two experimental and one control groups. Participants in the experimental and control groups completed the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (Garnefski, Kraaij & Spinhoven, 2006) before the intervention. Then, the two experimental groups were subjected to 10 sessions of training based on the (ART) and (SIT), while the control group did not receive any trainings. After completing the training sessions, as well as two months later, all the three groups completed the questionnaire again. Data were analyzed using SPSS25 software and mixed variance analysis. Findings showed that ART method significantly affected the positive cognitive emotional regulation strategies during the research stages compared to the other two groups. However, in relation to negative cognitive emotional regulation strategies, the educational methods did not have any significant effects on the scores. It seems that ART can be used to improve the behavior of adolescents and to prevent the occurrence of delinquent behaviors Manuscript profile

The purpose of this study was to determine the mediating role of emotional dysregulation in the relationship between mother’s child abuse potential and components of patience. The sample consisted of 300 mothers in Bushehr, whose children were enrolled in the pre-school in the year of 2017-2018. The participants were selected through targeted-sampling method and completed the questionnaires of Patience (Khormaee, Farmani & Soltani, 2014), Emotional Dysregulation (Bradley, DeFife, Guarnaccia, Phifer, Fani, Ressler & Wetsen, 2011) and, a short form of Child Abuse Potential Scale (Ondersma, Chaffin, & LeBreton, 2005). Structural equation modeling was used for data analysis. The findings showed the optimal fitness of assumed model and indicated partial mediation role of the emotional dysregulation components in the relationship between the mother’s patience and her child abuse potential. The direct and indirect effects of patience components on child abuse potential were discussed. The final model, in general, emphasizes on the importance of considering patience in the process of family trainings, especially mothers. Manuscript profile

The purpose of this study was to predict moral behavior based on wisdom with the mediating role of self-control. The study design was correlational and the statistical population included students of University of Applied Sciences and Technology in 2019 in Tehran. 370 students were selected by random cluster sampling method and completed Moral Behavior Questionnaire (Taqhiloo, 2017), Self-Control Questionnaire (Tangney, Baumeister & Boone, 2004) and Wisdom Questionnaire (Schmit, Muldoon, Pounders, 2012). For data analysis, structural equation modeling method was used. The results indicated that the self-control affects people-oriented and task- oriented moral behavior positively and self-centered moral behavior negatively. The direct effect of wisdom was also positive and significant on self-control while it was not significant on people-oriented, task-oriented and self-centered moral behavior, But through the mediating role of self-control, wisdom had a positive effect on people-oriented and task-oriented moral behavior and a negative effect on moral self-centeredness, indicating the importance of the role of self-control. Therefore, it can be concluded that in promoting moral behavior in educational planning, it is better to emphasize on improving self-control Manuscript profile

The aim of this study was to determine the structural relationship between metacognition and meta-emotion with distress tolerance by the mediatory of psychological flexibility. The study design was descriptive correlational and statistic population was all students of Mazandaran Islamic Azad University. For this purpose, 352 students were selected using multistage randomized cluster sampling method and responded to Metacognitive Questionnaire (Wells & Cartwright-Hatton, 2004), Meta-emotion Questionnaire (Mitmansgruber, Beck, Höfer & Schübler, 2009), Acceptance and Action Questionnaire (Bond, Hayes, Baer, Carpenter, Guenol et al., 2011), and Distress Tolerance Scale (Simons & Gaher ,2005). First, to evaluate the fitness of the models confirmatory factor analysis was used and then the fitness of the proposed model was analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling. Findings indicated a suitable fitness of the model to the data. Moreover, the results showed that the relationship between metacognitive and meta-emotion with distress tolerance by the mediatory of psychological flexibility was stronger than their direct relationship with distress tolerance. Therefore, the findings of this study revealed the importance of the mediating role of psychological flexibility in the relationship between metacognition and meta-emotion with distress tolerance Manuscript profile
