Siddha Nasafi’s Baharieh (1636- 1705) is an allegorical story of fable kind. This work which is similar to Panchatantra’s stories is capable of being adjusted with contemporary literary theories such as Propp’s morphology theory. Unlike content analysis, in formal- structural analysis the story is analyzed through form and structure and the content and subject are not very much considered. Lots of folk tales can be studied using this approach. Propp’s structural approach is a suitable method to analyze stories. Because of proximity and sequence of characters’ actions, Baharieh can also be analyzed using the structural approach. Among 31 narrative units of Propp’s theory, the units of “villainy”, “struggle”, “false claim” and “reconciliation between parties” have been used more in Baharieh and hence are similar to many of Panchatantra’s stories. On the other hand, at the end of Baharieh, the debate of “lion and ant” can be compared to ParvinEtesami’s debates of “ant and snake” and “ant and nightingale” that not only have similar contents, but also share common points according to structural theory of Propp. Like Siddha Nasafi’sBaharieh, in these two debates, narrative elements of “villainy”, “struggle” and finally “victory of protagonist against antagonist” have been proposed. Maarej-al-Khiyal is a unique biography related to the 11th century AD. It is a fine treasure of rich and subtle words of poets who has written their emotions and inner beliefs by exquisite and beautiful expression. The form of this collection is quatrains which, of course, few of them have not quatrain weight and are not considered as quatrain form. The collector of this fine work is Mirza Mohammad Saleh Razavi who has collected quatrains of 367 contemporary poets and before himself and all quatrains have been written in alphabetic letters order according to the pseudonym of poets. A variety of themes is seen in this biography which most of them are quranic themes and this indicates that poets have taken advantage of Quran to reveal religious and moral concepts. This work has some issues such as: God and unlimited kindness to his servants, also advise man to avoid pride, worldliness, desire, greed and pass of age, attention to the death, repent, etc. In this war of collection, sometimes, quranic concepts and compounds are used exactly at the end of quatrains or between hemistiches to emphasize, understand or complete that content. This study aims to search for these used quranic themes and verses and concepts in this manuscript collection. Manuscript profile

Articulation of feelings and emotions has always been a theme of interest in the poetry of women writers in Iran. One of such emotions is the maternal one which has received more stress and attention by women writers across the world and Iran. This paper prepared through close reading is a comparative study in the poetry of Parvin Etesami and Forough Farrokhzad to investigate their voices as mothers. In doing so, reasons for such articulations including social and literary parameters are investigated. Considering such parameters and the poetry of the two writers, it seems that Etesami with his powerful poems pays more attention to moralities and tries to correct whatever she does not like through advice. She highlights the role of motherhood by means of the same technique. On the other hand, the poetry of Farrokhzad often accentuates a motherhood language that is meant for women to encourage them to resist against men. Manuscript profile
