The present study was aimed at investigating the instructional, financial, administrative, and information technology problems of the distance learning centers as far as the viewpoints of the teachers and the students of Esfahan high schools were concerned. The research population included 4021 male/female students and 402 high school teachers during the academic year 2008-2009 (1387-1388). The population included 300 students and 110 teachers as the research subjects selected through multi-phase cluster random sampling. The study was a descriptive survey. To achieve the purposes of the study, two researcher-made Likert-scale questionnaires were administered to the subjects. The face validity and the content validity of the instruments were well established at the experts’ discretion. To examine their reliability, the Cronbach Alpha was used the resulting coefficients were quite satisfactory (for teachers’ α=0.88 and for students’ α=0.87).The data analysis included the application of the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), the student t-test and the Independent t-test. The research findings revealed that as far as the students’ viewpoints were concerned, all types of the problems were greater than the average at the confidential level of probability (P≤0.05) whereas the teachers believed that only the instructional problems and information technology were greater than the average. The findings also revealed that from the viewpoints of the students, there were significant differences in the amount of information technology problems in terms of gender differences. Moreover, a significant difference was found in assessing the amount of problems from the viewpoints of the teachers and students. Manuscript profile

AbstractThe epidemic of the Covid-19 and the resulting quarantine made distance learning the norm. Apart from the issue of access to smart facilities, there is little research evidence in this field that shows the difficulties of distance learning for children and adolescents with ADHD. Therefore, the current study investigated the behavioral and academic problems related to distance learning for children with ADHD. This research was a causal-comparative study. Ninety-six children with ADHD and 150 healthy children were selected through purposeful sampling with the ADHD screening questionnaire and structured clinical interview. Considering the conditions of online learning and comparing it with face-to-face learning, they were evaluated through the behavioral problems checklist, academic problems questionnaire, and academic motivation questionnaire. The results of multivariate variance analysis showed that the two groups had significant differences in behavioral and academic problems and motivation. Parents of children with ADHD reported more behavioral, academic, and motivational problems than parents of healthy children regarding online learning. Children with ADHD especially showed higher concentration problems and lower follow-through and motivation. These findings suggest that distance learning is not equally beneficial for all students and that those with behavioral disorders such as ADHD may not be able to benefit from this method. Therefore, it is important and necessary to identify behavioral and academic problems related to it for children with ADHD in order to find solutions to help them better. Keywords: attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder, behavioral problems, learning problems, school motivation, distance learning.1. This study aims to provide an appropriate model to enhance the faculty members' social capital in distance education system. The method of the study is quantitative and descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of the study included all the faculty members of Payame Noor University in Iran. The sampling method was a multi-stage cluster sampling with proportional distribution. The sample size was determined equal to 280 individuals based on the Krejcie and Morgan table. Two researcher-made questionnaires were used in order for collecting the required data. The first questionnaire was designed to assess factors affecting the quality of distance education and the second one for measuring the social capital. The content validity of the questionnaires was confirmed by the experts and estimation of factor analysis also showed that the construct validity of both questionnaires is desirable. The reliability of the questionnaires was calculated using Cronbach's alpha as 0.87 and 0.95, respectively. In addition to the descriptive statistics, the inferential statistics (hierarchical regression and structural equation) was also applied for analyzing the data. The results of the hierarchical regression showed that at the first level of the underlying factors, the greatest effect on the social capital is related to the family's cultural literacy (0.48) and at the second level, among the organizational factors, the greatest influence is related to the variables of the educational function (0.58) and the communication space (0.52) and the lowest impact is associated with the variable of the electronic technology (0.34). In addition, the obtained results from the structural equations confirmed suitability of the designed model with the data. Manuscript profile
