The most fundamental concept in philosophical aspect of bioethics, the “personal identity”, is being reviewed & studied in this article. After reviewing the concept of “person”, the major theories of “personhood” is being briefly expressed, then, the important point of “personal identity in Islamic philosophy in regard of cloning from person to person” is evaluated in accordance with the acceptance or rejection of reincarnation. Furthermore, in expressing the measures of the “personal identity”, three different theories including   shared memory, casual dependence and theory of survival have been expressed and each one has been individually studied and analyzed in accordance with the Islamic philosophy. Finally, it is expressed that the “personal identity in Muslim philosophers’ point of view” is nothing but a “personal unity. The soul is the only element that can protect & guard the identity as well as the personality. If cloning is not reincarnation, experiencing it tangibly shall be expected in order to be logically studied as a posterior fact, since the philosophy cannot say anything about the prior facts. The problem of personal identity, i.e. the question of what a person's being a person is based on, is one of the problems with a long history in philosophy and theology. The most important topic in the debates about personal identity is the criteria based on which a person remains the same person over time and is different from others. Personal identity is related to issues such as soul-body relation, memory, the whatness of "I", evidence of identity recognition, and even human population. It goes without saying that the personal identity is one of the topics that can have a special relevance in the survival of the soul and immortality. In his book Dialogue on Personal Identity and Immortality (1978), John Perry tries to present various philosophical positions and views on personal identity and immortality in the form of a three-person conversation between three fictional characters. In this book, various issues such as survival after death, the role of memory in personal identity, and the relationship of the body with the soul have been discussed from different perspectives. In this article, we will first introduce John Perry and his works. Then we examine the content of the book and the weaknesses of the arguments. At the end, we will have a look at the general quality of the Persian translation of the book (translated by Kaveh Lajevardi, published by Markaz Publications) and suggest what we think are better translations for some of the sentences. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of non-native computer games on students’ identities with respect to national, religious, family, gender and personal components. It was a descriptive-survey research. The statistical population consisted of both male and female of 29757 middle school students from Mazandaran, among which 487 subjects were selected based on Cochran formula using multi-stage cluster sampling method. Library and field methods were used to collect research data as well as researcher-made questionnaire tool. The face and content-related validity of the questionnaire was verified by experts. One sample t test, binominal test, independent t test and one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) were used to analyze the data. Accordingly, the reliability of Chronbach's Alpha coefficient was 0.91. The results indicated that the computer games have significant influence on national, religious, family and gender identities of students. It had no effect on personal identity. There was a significant difference between males and females in religious, family, gender and personal identity variables. Male students were more affected than females. However, the grade and the field of study showed no meaningful difference between them. In general, the results indicated that frequent, improper use of non-native computer games has a debilitating effect on middle school students’ identity. Manuscript profile

the aim of this study was to test the factor structure and internal consistency of the 12-item identity subscale of Erikson Psychosocial Stage Inventory (EPSI; Rosenthal, Gurney, & Moor, 1981). The sample consisted of 594 students (297 females, 297 males, age group 12-13). Exploratory factor analysis identified two factors accounting for 39.93% of the variance: Identity coherence (24.66%) and identity confusion (15.27%). Internal consistency of the identity coherence and identity confusion factors were 0.694 and 0.632, respectively. Confirmatory factor analysis results indicated that the two factor model fit the data better than one factor model.      Manuscript profile

the purpose of this research was to examine the role of identity in the relationship between family functioning and problem behavior in a sample of 300 (150 females, 150 males) second year middle school students. Family functioning was operationalized in terms of parent-adolescent communication, parental involvement and positive parenting. Problem behavior was operationalized in terms of aggressive behavior, rule breaking behavior, and attention problems. Structural equation models indicated that 22% of the total (direct and indirect) relationships between family functioning and problem behavior operated through identity variables, and identity confusion partially mediated the relationship between family functioning and early adolescent problem behavior. The present findings suggested that both family functioning and identity may play important roles in directing young adolescents toward or away from problem behavior. Implications for intervention were discussed. Manuscript profile

The problem of mind-body is one of the most complex philosophical issues that, in the opinion of thinkers, if there is enough answer to this question, many complex and difficult philosophical issues will be solved, and human beings will achieve a comprehensive knowledge of the nature of mankind. In addition to the ontological and causal problems posed by the mind-body issue, this issue faces mental issues with important questions such as the nature of personal identity and its relation to the body and the brain. The inability of theories in explanation due to mental and physical characteristics has led some to raise the issue of returning to the Aristotelian interpretation of mind or soul as body form. In spite of the many criticisms that Aristotle's theory posed, how he faced the problem of mind-body it helps us, to answer questions about what constitutes mental phenomena and physical states, and how is the interaction of our body and mind. His views also have many strengths points in solving the problem of personal identity. Manuscript profile
