This disease is caused by degenerative loss of dopaminergic neurons of midbrain, from substantia nigra to corpus striatum pathway. Ghrelin act as a neuroprotective against Parkinson disease, and this study aimed to investigate protective effects of ghrelin on the substantia nigra area of brain in Parkinson disease model induced- MPTP. Materials and Methods:Forty male NMRI mice were randomly divided into 5 groups of: control, saline, Parkinson, Parkinson + 0.0002 mg/kg ghrelin, and Parkinson +0.0004 mg/kg ghrelin. The Parkinson disease model was induced by MPTP intraperitoneally injection (25 mg/kg, i.p) for four days. The treatment was started one day after last MPTP inducement, by ghrelin intraperitoneally injection for 30 days. catalepsy was assessed by the means of a standard test bar. The brains were removed from the skull for histology (haematoxylin and eosin stain were used as the main principle), also tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), and Interleukin 10(IL-10) levels in substantia nigra and corpus striatum was measured using ELISA method. Results:Ghrelin effectively reduces catalepsy levels and reduces the degenerative loss of dopaminergic neurons of substantia nigra pars compacta. It will meaningfully decrease the levels of TNF-α, and positively increases the levels of IL-10 in substantia nigra and corpus striatum. Conclusion: Based on results obtained from this study, we can conclude that ghrelin has a neuroprotective role, improves catalepsy, reduces inflammatory factors, and increase anti-inflammatory factors in Parkinson disease rodent models. In this study, the effect of chicory stem aqueous extract on the prevention of calcium oxalate stone formation in the kidneys of rats was investigated. 24 male Wistar rats were assigned to four groups as follows: healthy control, received ethylene glycol and prevention groups (administered 50 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg intraperitoneal [i.p.] dose of chicory stem aqueous extract along with 1% ethylene glycol for 30 days. On days 0, 15, and 30, urine volume and the urinary levels of citrate, calcium, uric acid, creatinine, and pH and on day 31, the serum levels of calcium, uric acid, and creatinine were evaluated. RNA was extracted from kidney tissues and cDNA was synthesized. The expression levels of IL-1β, TNF-α -coding genes’ were evaluated by real-time PCR technique. Data analysis was performed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey's post hoc test in SPSS. In the prevention groups calcium urinary level (day 15 and dose 50 mg/kg), citrate (day 15) and serum calcium, uric acid, creatinine, as well as TNF-α expression had reduced significantly. Urine volume (day 30) and IL-1β-coding gene’ expression (200 mg/kg) had increased significantly. Cichorium intybus L. stem is probably causing a decrease in serum parameters and urine calcium at the dose of 50 mg/kg due to its diuretic properties. But at the dose of 200 mg/kg, it has no effects on preventing nephrolithiasis and increases renal inflammation caused by increased IL-1β and some urinary parameters. Manuscript profile -

The current study was to examine the effect of eight weeks resistance training with vitamin D consumption on Interleukin 10 & 15 in overweight women. Materials and methods: In semi an experimental study carried out by pre-test and post-test, 60 overweight women aging between 20 to 35 were selected in 4 groups: resistance training, vitamin D consumption, resistance training with vitamin D consumption and placebo. Subject Blood sampling was collected in pre- test and post- test phases after 8 weeks of training. The training protocol consisted of 8 weeks of resistance training, which was held three sessions per week. Participants in two groups of daily vitamin intake consumed 1 unit of vitamin D in capsules (at night and before going to bed). Participants in the placebo group also received a placebo from lactose. Data were analyzed by the analysis of variance with repeated measures (p < 0.05). Findings: Resistance training and resistance training along with vitamin D significantly reduced interleukin-6 and increased interleukin-15 in overweight women. Other results showed a greater effect of resistance training with vitamin D compared to the resistance training alone in reducing interleukin-6 and increasing interleukin-15 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: It seems that overweight and obese women using vitamin D combined with resistance training may be able to prevent the inflammatory stress caused by moderate exercise and its aftermath. A highly sensitive electrochemical sensor was fabricated based on MIL-101 (a metal-organic framework) modified carbon paste electrode and used for determination of losartan. The electrochemical behavior of losartan was studied with cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry techniques. The modified electrode exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity towards the oxidation losartan in phosphate buffer (pH=8). Determination of losartan by differential pulse voltammetry method showed that there are two linear relationships between losartan concentration and anodic peak current in the range of 1 to 10 and 10 to 200 μM with a detection limit of 0.7 µM. The effect of possible interferences on the voltammetric response of losartan was investigated. Finally, the modified electrode was used for determination of losartan in pharmaceutical and biological samples. The results showed the high ability for analysis of this drug in real samples. T MoreCarvacrol is a natural monoterpene phenol which retains significant antibacterial, antifungal, anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory activity. However, the effect of carvacrol on oxidative stress in lipopolysaccharide-induced acute kidney injury has not yet been reported. The present study aimed to investigate the protective effects of carvacrol on lipopolysaccharides-induced renal oxidative stress and inflammatory responses in male rats. Male Wistar rats (weighing 200 to 250 g, n=7 each group) were divided into the following groups: 1) control, 2) LPS, 3) LPS+carvacrol 25 mg/kg, 4) LPS+carvacrol 50 mg/kg and 5) LPS+carvacrol 100 mg/kg. For inducing acute kidney injury, 1 mg/kg LPS was injected intraperitoneally for 2 weeks. Carvacrol was administered intraperitoneally 30 minutes prior LPS injection. After preparation of renal homogenates, levels of inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and oxidative stress indexes (malondialdehyde, total thiol, catalase and Superoxide dismutase activity) were detected by ELISA and spectrophotometric methods, respectively. Our results showed that LPS injection increased malondialdehyde and IL-1β while, it reduced total thiol, catalase and SOD activity in the renal tissue. But, pretreatment with carvacrol not only decreased malondialdehyde and IL-1β levels but also increased total thiol, catalase and SOD activity. Simple regression analysis revealed that MDA was positively correlated with IL-1β level). However, there was a significant negative correlation between MDA level and total thiol, SOD and CAT activities. Our results showed that carvacrol protects the kidney by reducing IL-1β and preventing oxidative stress in the renal tissue.enal tissue. Manuscript profile -

One percent of all men and ten percent of infertile men suffer from azoospermia, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of eight weeks of swimming training, cell and laser therapy on the expression of IL-2, IL-10 and STAT-3 genes in testicular tissue. It is azoospermia in rats. Methods: Forty 6- to 8-week-old rats were randomly selected, and then the azoospermia model was induced with Busulfan at a dose of 40 mg in mice. One month after induction of the model, stem cells were transplanted once in the vas deferens at the rate of one million cells per mouse. Then, one week after cell transplantation, a laser with a wavelength of 632.8 nm and a power of 10 mW and energy 3 joules were applied in three repetitions throughout the study period with an interval of once a week, and after improving the effects of surgery, swimming training were performed for 30 minutes and 5 days a week for 8 weeks. Results: The results showed that induction of azoospermia model caused a significant increase in IL-2, IL-10 and STAT-3 genes compared to healthy group rats (P≤0.05). Also, performing the interventional methods of laser therapy, cell therapy and exercise significantly reduced the expression of these genes in the testicular tissue of rats compared to the patient group (P≤0.05). Conclusion: Swimming exercise in combination with cell and laser therapy may help the fertility of azoospermia model rats by reducing testicular tissue inflammation signaling. Manuscript profile
