The recent acquaintance of Western societies, especially America, with Rumi and his poems, must have been due to Coleman Barks' translations; A translator who get acquainted with Rumi in 1976 by his friend Robert Bly for the first time. Coleman Barks translated Rumi's poems, while he had no acquaintance with Persian language and literature. He re-translated those poems using previous translations by Arbery and Nicholson. In response to the main question of this research, which seeks the reasons for the success of Coleman Bark's translations, we having studied on a number of Bark's translations which are selected among Barks' various books and comparing those with the original text. Eventually with the help of Andre Lefevre's theory we analyzed those translations, and finally, the reasons are as follow: 1. The need of modern American society and readers for the human, universal, and boundless concepts that have manifested themselves in Rumi's poetry as mysticism. 2. Barks' clever choice of Rumi, among other Eastern poets, because in Rumi's poetry, themes and ideas is deep and astonishing, and has the potential to be reduced to today's paradigms. 3. The style he uses in translating these poems, which is the free style of American poetry, is based on the translation pattern of Andre Lefrvere. Manuscript profile

The phytochemistry of F. racemosa bark was compared with other Ficus species available in South India (F. religiosa, F. benghalensis and F. hispida barks). Further, fresh bark was compared with stored bark of F. racemosa; wood with the trunk bark of F. racemosa; branch bark with the trunk bark of F. racemosa. Also the protective potential of active fraction was evaluated against oxidative stress in ex vivo skin model. Qualitative and quantitative estimation of phytochemicals were done for Ficus species bark samples and also subjected to UPLC-QTOF-MS analysis. It was found that methanolic extract of F. racemosa has a high number of phytochemicals (Flavonoids: 4.10 mg/mL; phytosterols: 3.28 mg/mL; total phenols: 29.93 mg/mL and tannins: 8.98 mg/mL). Kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucoside was noted as the major compound in F. racemosa bark. Trunk bark of F. racemosa was quantified to have high amount of phytochemicals than branch bark. Also, bark was found to contain higher concentration of different phytochemicals than F. racemosa wood. Stored bark of F. racemosa was found to exhibit lesser amount of phytochemicals than fresh bark. F. racemosa bark also exhibits moderate superoxide and hydrogen peroxide scavenging activities, high inhibition of lipid peroxidation and moderate inhibition of protein oxidation. Manuscript profile

One of the main problems of pine trees in the Chitgar park located in Tehran, Iran, is pine bark beetles, which not only cause direct harms to these trees but also is vector of some viral  and bacterial pathogens. To study the seasonal population fluctuations of the pest, the sampling process of adults from pine barks was performed in different regions of the park in 2015 to 2017. Twelve infected centers in the park were selected and four cross trap were installed in each center. The mass capturing pheromone of Orthotomicus erosus and pine kairomone dispensers were used in each trap. The distance between traps was about 50 meters. According to the observed data, the emergence of adult beetles was started in early April and continued until mid-December. The average daily capture per trap was four beetles. From mid-December onwards, no beetles were caught in the traps. Mediteranean pine bark beetle had at least six flight peaks in the area of study. The most trapping were observed in 8 June, 28 June, 27 July, 16 August, 5 September and 25 September respectively. The The highest number of trap catches was registered in September, July, August, June, September and October, with 9.2, 7.7, 7.2, 5.7, 2.4 and 1.6 beetles per trap respectively. Also, the mean average of total capture during spring, summer, autumn and winter were 401, 1159,114 and zero beetles per trap; so, the most activity of the pest was observed in summer, spring and autumn respectively The highest number of beetle was in the north and the least was captured in the south of the park. In this paper amounts of stemflow for the Quercus castaneifolia C.A.M and Acer velutinum Boiss trees were investigated during the leafy and leafless period in the campus of the faculty of Natural Resources of Tarbiat Modares University, in Mazandaran province Noor city. Stemflow was collected by spiral pipes installed at the breast height and amount of total rainfall was measured using 5 rainfall collectors at the nearest open space. Measurement of rainfall and steamflow for 4 times at leafy period with total of 114 mm and for 7 times at leafless period with total of 119 mm performed. Average amount of stemflow for the Oak and maple trees were 0.64 and 5.7 percent of total rainfall respectively for the leafy period and for the leafless period 0.62 and 7.65 percent of total rainfall measured. The results showed that in both periods and both species, there was a significant positive correlation between the stemflow and the amount of rainfall. Also, according to the results of this study relationship between stemflow over rainfall for the:Oak in leafless period (R2=0.85) is stronger than leafy period (R2=0.35), whereas for the maple both period of leafless (R2=0.67) and leafy (R2=0.92) period relatively strong relationship between the rainfall over stemflow observed. Generally, according to this paper for the:Oak, due to the grooved and rough skin, stemflow share of rainfall averagely 9 times more than maple obtained. Although the study indicated that maple is more than that of oak produced Stemflow because was found to be highly correlated with higher bark water storage capacity as well as higher bark roughness of the oak trees. Background & Aim: Garcinia kola is one of the well-known tropical medicinal plants known in the traditional management of several diseases especially connected with inflammatory and degenerative diseases. This study was designed to compare the phytochemical contents and cytotoxic activities of crude G. kola n-hexane seed and stem-bark extracts by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS).Experimental: Fresh seeds and stem-bark of G. kola were collected, authenticated and extracted by macerating in n-hexane separately. The compounds in the crude extracts were evaluated using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometer (GC-MS). The cytotoxic activity was determined using the brine shrimp lethality assay. Results: Extraction of the plant materials yielded the crude n-hexane extracts GKSE and GKBE from the G. kola seed and stem-bark, respectively. GC-MS analysis detected 54 and 34 compounds in GKSE and GKBE, respectively. The most abundant compounds in both extracts were Lanosta-8,24-dien-3-one and Oxacycloheptadec-8-en-2-one with percentage abundance of 20.72% and 22.71%, respectively. The stem-back extract (LC50=42.76±1.85 μg/mL) showed better cytotoxic activity than the seed extract (LC50=73.15±1.51 μg/mL). GC-MS results for both extracts indicated compounds known for their antioxidant and anticancer properties which may explain some of the various ethno-medical uses of G. kola seed and stem-bark.Recommended applications/industries: This plant could be a source of a new anticancer drug. Background & Aim: Herbal medicines have historical use and is currently being used in treatment of various diseases largely due to its relative availability and cheap cost. Standardization and development of suitable dosage forms for herbal medicines is therefore pertinent for both practitioners and patients. This study aims to evaluate effect of diluents (microcrystalline cellulose, lactose and magnesium carbonate) on the compaction and compression properties of the stem bark extract of Terminalia avicennoides.Experimental: The crushed powdered stem bark was macerated in 70 % ethanol for 72 h at room temperature with intermittent stirring. The filtrate was concentrated over a water bath at 100 °C to obtain the dried extract (TAE). Granules of the extract were prepared by wet granulation. Flow properties and moisture content of the granules were determined. Compatibility between the extract and the diluents was investigated by Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). Compacts were made and properties evaluated using the Heckel and Kawakita models. Results: Results of FTIR spectra showed no interaction between the ingredients of the tablet formulations. Granules prepared with microcrystalline cellulose (T-MCC) possessed better flow and showed more propensities to be compacted than the other tablet batches. All the tablet formulations were observed to exhibit plastic deformation but T-MCC showed faster onset of deformation, closer packing, less cohesiveness, greater densification and easier compaction ability than tablets prepared with lactose (T-LAC) and magnesium carbonate (T-MAG). Although T-MAG showed the highest tensile strength, it was the only formulation that disintegrated within the 30 min official specification for herbal tablets.Recommended applications/industries: However, based on other parameters apart from disintegration time, microcrystalline cellulose is considered as the diluent of choice for preparation of standardized and robust tablets of stem bark extract of Terminalia avicennoides. Introduction :One of the main problems of spatial development, especially in less developed complaints, is the rupture of the space organization due to the relationship between the interactions between settlements. The space organization of Zebarkhan district of Neyshabour is no exception to this rule. Efforts to address the space police force of settlements can pave the way for the development of development programs at various levels. In this regard, recognizing your relationships and your abilities in rural schools and setting up the correct way to use these abilities is one of the first and basic steps that must be taken firmly.Goal of the research: The present study analyzes and evaluates the space organization of Zebrakhan village and the changes that occurred in it during a period of 23 years (1375-98).Research Methodology: The present study is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of methodology. The method of data collection was library and field. In order to achieve the objectives of the research, with a spatial approach and with a scientific method to explain the changes and developments that have occurred during the past 23 years in the space organization of the rural area of Zebarkhan, Neyshabour city. The statistical population of the study includes 29 urban and rural settlements located in Zebarkhan sub-district of Neyshabour city.Geographical area of research:The geographical area of the research is Zebarkhan village of Neyshabour city. Zebarkhan section consists of three villages that Zebarkhan village is known as the most populous village. Results and discussion: The findings showed that the lack of proper distribution of services and lack of spatial balance has led to increased mobility and movement between human settlements in the countryside. Therefore, the three settlements of Ghadamagah, Baghshan and Darroud with the first to third ranks have become the main places of intra-district traffic. Conclusion:The results of flow analysis indicate that the flow pattern is one-way relationships and no complementary, two-way and synergistic bonds are formed. This model is in line with the theory of the growth pole with the sovereignty of cities and is still far from the regional network model. In general, it can be said that the space organization of Zebarkhan village lacks a spatial balance that by creating a balance in the distribution of facilities and services, balanced and sustainable development and optimal space organization can be achieved. Background & Objectives: Deep bark canker is a disease which is caused by Brenneria rubrifaciens, and reduces the quality and quantity of Walnut fruits. This study was performed to identify the bacterial agent of deep bark canker based on morphological characteristics, pathogenicity and using specific primers for the genes involved in rubrifacien pigment production.   Materials & Methods: This cross-sectional- descriptive study was performed on walnut trees with canker symptoms in Lorestan Province. Following purification, bacterial identification was performed using the phenotypic characteristics of the bacterial isolates. Further evaluation of the canker agent was carried out using 2BrIF/2BrIFR and GSP2F/GSP2R primers. Also, the virulence properties of the bacteria were tested on walnut seedling and fruits.   Results: Based on the phenotypic characteristics, 14 isolates were identified as B. rubrifaciens. 671 and 280 bp fragments were amplified in the isolates the during PCR test. In pathogenicity test, symptoms of a rotted and blackened tissue were observed at the site of inoculation. In the phylogenetic analysis, two isolates showed 97% and 98% homology with the bacterial isolates identified in the Genbank.   Conclusion: Comparing other methods, PCR using specific primers is a fast, functional and highly sensitive method to detect B. rubrifaciens. Based on our results on the pathogenicity potential of the strains and the occurrence of the symptoms on walnut seedlings, the pathogen under favorable conditions suffers severe damage to the trees.
