“Naz” and “Niaz” are one of the Ghanaian common contents of romantic and mystical ghazals (lyric poems) of Persian literature and poets have used this content in their poems as well as mystics. The basis of relationships in romantic and mystic poets is love. Beloved performs “Naz” and lover is full of feeling of “Niaz”. In all of these relationships, when beloved performs “Naz”, lover accepts it and the sense of need appears in him. The main reason of beloved’s “Naz” lies in her beauty and the source of “Niaz” in lover mostly depends on the “Naz” of beloved. In this paper the joint study of “Naz” and “Niaz” is important especially in poems belonging to Sanāi as a mystical poet, Hāfez as a romantic-mystical poet, and Vahshi as a romantic poet and writers try to answer these questions: What are romantic “Naz” and “Niaz”? What are mystical “Naz” and “Niaz”? What are the similarities and differences between romantic and mystical “Naz” and “Niaz”? and also different kinds of “Naz” and “Niaz” are contemplated. Undoubtedly, Vahshi e-Bafghi is one of the famous poets of the Safavid period, whose importance lies in his special style of expression. Art creation in the subject and expression of poetic feelings and emotions with his smooth, simple and intimate language has made him the most prominent poet of the school of occurrence. Poetry can be examined from different aspects. Examining the manifestations of the mystical elements in Bafghi's poems, especially in Khold e-Barin, is one of the novelties and beauties of his language and thoughts. By descriptive-analytical processing of Bafghi’s poems, the writer has come to the conclusion that with all the emotional passion and poetic inspiration he had, mystical love was one of his intellectual and poetic themes. In most of them, the poet's intense emotions, feelings, pain and inner anguish are expressed with a smooth, simple and pleasant language with the most force. He has revealed him, but at the same time he has considered it as a bridge to the truth. Manuscript profile

AbstractThe present study investigates the narrative element in Vahshi Bafghi's poem "Nazer and Manzour" (the observer and the observed) in the light of the theory of "Tzutan Todorov". The structure of the narrative refers to the method of organization, the set of relationships and elements and components of the work. The structural analysis examines the relationship between these elements including attainment of the proposition, the sequel as well as examining the plot, narrator and different echelons of the storyline. Of course, in addition to the mentioned cases, thoughts and notions of the content of the work are also examined. Therefore, considering the emergence of schools of literary criticism, which has opened a new chapter in Persian language research, as well as the position of Persian love poems that have been considered as prominent works from the beginning to the present and contain many features of Persian language and literature, the present research has extracted narrative aspects in this work through descriptive-analytical method together with using library resources. Existence of eight sequences and propositions, amongst which balance and imbalance are sometimes seen, and that the sequences do not reach the final balance, aspects of causality and causation to continue the narrative, the process of characterization considering the two elements of the lover and beloved and the existing obstacles on their way to reach each other and the propositional materials in the narrative are among the findings of this research Manuscript profile

In his work “sharh-e- parishani”, VahshiyeBafghi explains his amorous relationship with his beloved. According to Freud’s Unconsciousness Theory, the poet ‘unconsciously’ elicits words and sentences unwittingly From his ‘unconscious’ or ‘Id’ which reveals both his ‘Id’ and ‘inner self’ to us. However, the poet tries to control his ‘unconsciousness’ completelyand conceal the reality of his ‘inner self’.As Freud has told,in this way he sends his desires to his ‘unconsciousness’ and pays for being civilized. Following this track, the poet sometimes justifies his sliptonguesthrough alluding to an old and sacred story. Vahshi’s efforts i.e. the conflict between ‘consciousness’ and ‘unconsciousness’ has led to an internal conflict in his poem which continues up to the end of the poem, and the poet is not able to release himself from this conflict and can‌‌not come to a conclusion absolutely. That is why he pours out his heart to the beloved in order to soften his heart and come to terms with him. Manuscript profile

Love is one of the most fundamental subjects in Persian poetry and its platonic and romantic types in poems of different poets have created excellent themes and beautiful interpretations. Love in lyric works where the author manifests his inner feelings and emotions is the principal matter and ‘the beloved’ takes the leading and decisive role and in fact is deemed as the central role in lyric literature. Saadi Shirazi is a love poet, too who composes his poems about love and life, with the beloved being the most significant theme in his ghazals (a poem with a fixed number of verses having a repeated rhyme which is typically about the theme of love.) Vahshi Bafqi is also a love poet. However, these two poets view ‘the beloved’ differently and the aim of this paper is to shed light on manifestation of love and the beloved in ghazals of Saadi Shirazi and poems of Vahshi Bafqi. This paper studied love and reflection thereof in literature, nature of love, different types of love, and characteristics of the beloved in ghazals and ghazal composing. At the next step, the beloved and its characteristics in Saadi Shirazi’s ghazals and in Occurrence school (a school in Persian poetry emerged in the first quarter of the tenth century) and poems of Vahshi Bafqi were explored. The beloved in Saadi’s ghazals has a transcendent position which occasionally approximates God, as depicted in Persian poetry; however, it is mostly a romantic beloved. In Saadi’s ghazals, the lover is always utterly submitted to the beloved and evidence courtesy; whereas, in most of Vahshi’s ghazals, contrary to the established poetic custom of ghazal, the lover averts his eyes from the beloved and no longer yearns for the beloved’ coquetry and goes after another beloved.
