The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of communication skills training on perceived competence and happiness of sixth grade male elementary students. This research was a quasi-experimental in which pretest-posttest with control groups was used. Statistical population consisted of all male students of the sixth grade of elementary schools in Shiraz in academic year 94-95. By using available sampling, 30 students who gained lower scores on Perceived Competence Scale (Harter, 1982) and Happiness Questionnaire (Hills & Argyle, 2002) were selected and randomly assigned to an experimental (15 students) and a control (15 students) group. The experimental group received communication skills training in 10 sessions (90 minutes each). Then, the posttest was administered for both groups. Covariance analysis indicated that there was a significant difference between experimental and control groups in perceived competence, its dimensions and happiness and the mean scores of the experimental group were higher than the control group (P≤0/01). Therefore, communication skills training is effective in increasing perceived competence and happiness of students. Manuscript profile

This study aimed to analyze teachers' experiences with the implemented sixth-grade social studies curriculum in the field of citizenship education. This research is applied in terms of purpose and qualitative in terms of approach, which has been done with the case study strategy. The statistical population of this study included teachers, deputies and administrators with more than ten years of teaching experience who were selected using standard sampling (standard sampling) using purposive sampling. A total of 36 people were interviewed, including 26 teachers, 5 deputies and 5 school principals. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview. The data obtained from the interview were analyzed using the categorization and coding method developed by Glaser and Strauss. The criteria of reliability, reliability, and "member validity test" were used for data validity and reliability. The present study's findings indicate the existence of several challenges in the implementation of the social studies curriculum in terms of citizenship education and show the dominance of the conservative approach to citizenship education in the implementation of this program. Accordingly, it seems necessary to make major decisions in the implementation of the curriculum as well as change the type of attitudes and beliefs of teachers. Manuscript profile

The important mission of education is to help the all-round development of students intellectually, behaviorally and attitudinally. Academic optimism is considered one of the most important components of attitudinal growth and a complement to the intellectual and behavioral growth of students, which has attracted the attention of education specialists and researchers in this field. This research was conducted with the aim of identifying the effect of the flipped classroom teaching method on the components of academic optimism in mathematics. The present research method was semi-experimental with a pre-test-test design with a control group. The statistical population of the research includes all the students of the 6th grade of elementary school in Varzeghan city, firstly, 34 people were selected by the available sampling method, then two experimental groups (17 people) were randomly selected due to the homogeneity of the samples. and control (17 people) were replaced. To collect data, the Academic Optimism Questionnaire (AOQ) of Schennen Moran et al. (2013) was used with a reliability of 0.93 for the whole test. Research hypotheses were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance method and SPSS26 software. The findings showed that the flipped classroom teaching method significantly increases students' academic optimism in the components of student trust in the teacher (P<0.001), academic emphasis (P=0.013) and school unity (P=0.015). As a result, the flipped classroom teaching method is considered one of the most effective methods of developing academic optimism, which is recommended to sixth grade teachers.  Manuscript profile
