The Melody of the Rainy City written by the renowned Iranian playwright Akbar Radi and The Fool written by the controversial British dramatist Edward Bond are discussed in the present article by drawing on sociological criticism to illustrate the similarities of these playwrights’ outlooks. Both writers are highly concerned with social injustice in the capitalist systems and believe that people’s economic situation determines their way of life, thoughts and behavior. In spite of cultural differences emerging out of living in two different social contexts, Radi and Bond share some ideas over the social problems induced by capitalism, therefore depict such problems as social inequality and the suppression of low classes by the owners of wealth and capital in capitalist societies. They also demonstrate the dependence of people’s behavior and mindset on their social status, and the functioning of ideology and different social institutions in sustaining the power of those who possess money and rule over the society. In Iran, oil as a source of energy, life, and economy of the people has influenced the country and it has been recognized as the agent of the national credit and engine of economic growth and the country's largest source of revenue. Oil resources have been an important part of the state revenues. The significant role of oil can be detected clearly by a simple comparison between the revenues from oil export and revenues from non-oil export. It is also highly dependent on oil revenues. This research recognizes the negative effects of oil on the economy and finally shows an appropriate strategy to resolve the current situation. The results of the study suggest the best way to avoid negative impacts of oil on Iran's economy. The results of the quantitative section showed that in this study, the value of t dimensions of information technology in converting knowledge into wealth is estimated from 6.92 to 1.97. Which is calculated more than the assumed t value (1.96). Therefore, considering the significance and positivity of this coefficient, it can be stated with 99% confidence that all the above dimensions have a positive and indirect effect on it. The highest value of t is related to the dimension of competitive reinforcement and the lowest is the dimension of external factors. Manuscript profile

AbstractAshi is one of the most significant mythological goddesses in Iran.  In texts such as Avesta, Yasht, and Yasnas she is associated with different attributes namely, granting fortunes to Iranians ( association with wealth and blessing), helping friends, bringing horse and blessings from foreign lands to Iranians, connection with women and their influence over them.  Since Shahnameh has a mythological substructure one can witness the reflection of functions and the characteristics of the mythological figures in certain characters of Shahnameh tales.  A fine example is the impact of Ashi’s functions on the  performance of influential and outstanding women in Shahnameh.  Using the descriptive analytic method this study is an attempt to compare the deeds of women such as Faranak, Farangis, Jarireh, Homay Chehrazad, Rumi Kanizak, and Pourandokht with the outstanding characteristic features of the goddess Ashi.  The results obtained show that their deeds are the repetition of Ashi’s actions and missions.  In fact these women are the repetition of the mythological image of Ashi in the Shahnameh text.  Reflection upon the characteristics of the above mentioned women reveal that among the different deeds of Ashi, confering fortune and blessing are the main attributes reaching these women, and more often these rewards are in conncection with kingdom or coming into power of a king or a warrior.  Manuscript profile
