Psychological well-being is trying to flourish the capabilities of human beings. So far, many tools have been provided for assessment and evaluation of psychological wellbeing. The aim of this study was to examine the factor structure and psychometric properties of the short form (18 items) of Psychological well-being scale. To this end, in a descriptive study, correlational type, 976 patients (647 females and 329 males) were selected from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical sciences and were tested on short versions of Ryff’s scale of Psychological well-being , optimistic psychotherapy Inventory, depression scale, anxiety and stress. The result of Single-group confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the total sample and in both sexes, the six-factor model of the scale (Self-acceptance, environmental mastery, positive relationships with others, having a purpose in life, Personal growth and independence) has a good fit. The scale's internal homology using Cronbach's alpha in 6 factors of Self-acceptance, environmental mastery, positive relationships with others, having a purpose in life, Personal growth and independence, were respectively, 0.52, 0.76, 0.75, 0.52, 0.73, 0.72 and for the total scale it was 0.71. Overall, the results suggest that the short form (18-item) of Ryff’s scale of Psychological well-being was a useful tool to measure psychological well-being among Iranian sample of girls and boys. Breast is symbol of femininity. loss of the breast would somehow reduce femininity and sexual attractiveness of women. The aim of the present study was to compare the effectiveness of integrative psychotherapy, spiritual therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy on sexual dysfunction in women with breast cancer. For this purpose, in a semi-experimental study with pre-test, post-test and control group, 60 women with breast cancer of Shohadaye-Tajrish Hospital in Tehran were selected by  Convenience sampling method and randomly divided into 3 experimental groups and 1 control group. The sexual experience of groups was tested before and after research and two months afterward the interventions. Separate group therapy sessions were presented for all three groups once a week for 8 sessions in 90 minutes.  The result of multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA), indicated that integrative psychotherapy, cognitive -behavior therapy, and spiritual therapy were effective on the sexual performance of patients under training, and this effect was consistent in the follow-up test. It seems that these therapies, along with other interventions such as medication and medical interventions, can be effective in reducing sexual dysfunction in these patients. Manuscript profile

One of the most important factors associated with suicide is the traces of pathological character in people. Among the three clusters of personality disorder, schizotypal personality disorder and borderline personality disorder are the most important disorders that have a role in suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts and a complete suicide. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between borderline and schizotypal personality with suicidal thoughts among students. For this purpose, in a descriptive correlational study, 250 students of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences were evaluated in terms of borderline personality, schizotypal personality characteristics and suicidal thoughts. The result of partial correlation test results indicated that all borderline and schizotypal characters have positive and significant relationship with suicidal thoughts. However, only despair, paranoia and dissociative symptoms related to stress and paranoid suspiciousness / social anxiety could significantly predict their suicidal thoughts. According to the results of this research, it can be said that normal individuals who have borderline and schizotypal traits of personalities, should be investigated on their suicidal thoughts. In order to prevent suicide in people with borderline personality characteristics, they should be treated on the properties of their despair and paranoid symptoms. People who have a streak of schizotypal personality, should also be taken into consideration on their paranoid suspiciousness and social anxiety characteristics. Manuscript profile

There is a convincing evidence that suggests high rates of obsessive-compulsive personality disorder in a sample of patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Comparison and evaluation of different styles of emotional expression, with respect to its various subsets can clarify the characteristic of the two disorders and indicate the similarities and differences between them. The aim of this study was to compare the styles of emotional expression (expressiveness, control and ambivalence in emotional expression) in patients with obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and normal subjects. To this end, in a post-event study of 43 patients with obsessive personality disorder, 41 patients with obsessive disorder and30 normal patients were selected in a screening method. They were tested in terms of obsessive compulsive disorder, obsessive compulsive personality disorder and emotional expressiveness, emotional control, ambivalence in emotional expression. ANOVA results indicated a significant difference in the control group and the ambivalence expressed emotion.  It seems not only emotional expressiveness cannot be an indicator of differentiation for patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder and obsessive-compulsive personality disorder but it is even not a good indicator to distinguish between a normal groups of patients. However, emotional control and the intensity of ambivalence in emotional expression may be an indicator of differentiation for the two disorders. Manuscript profile

Excessive emphasis on beauty has caused the growing number of applicants for cosmetic surgery in different countries. These surgeries are mostly done to eliminate people's dissatisfaction with their appearance and in some cases to increase self-esteem. The purpose of this research was to investigate the level of self-esteem, satisfaction and attitude towards the durability of drug effects in people applying for Botox in selected clinics in Tehran. For this purpose, during a cross-sectional descriptive research, 240 Botox applicants were selected by convenience sampling method and evaluated in terms of self-esteem, satisfaction and attitude towards the durability of the drug. The results of regression analysis showed that self-esteem, satisfaction and attitude towards the durability of drug effects do not show a significant relationship between men and women. The results show a significant relationship between self-esteem and satisfaction with botox injection and attitude towards the durability of the drug effect and satisfaction. The results show that the higher the attitude towards the durability of the drug effect, the higher the satisfaction, and the higher the satisfaction, the higher the self-esteem of the people. This research supports the relationship between self-esteem and demand and medical treatment for beauty. Manuscript profile

Difficulty in regulating emotional excitement and anxiety sensitivity are two key factors in social anxiety disorder. In examining the underlying mechanisms of the disorder, the researchers concluded that avoiding experiencing emotions, thoughts, and moving away from valuable life goals, strengthens the psychological inflexibility of the social context and behavioral functions of therapists. The aim of this study was to review the hexagonal model of psychological flexibility, compassion-based therapy, functional analytical psychotherapy and matrix therapy for acceptance and commitment to social anxiety disorder and other anxiety disorders. For this purpose, in a review study, published articles on the treatment of social anxiety disorder were reviewed in Scopus databases from 1997 to 2019. What seems to be the model of treatment of acceptance and commitment and compassion therapy is effective in reducing social anxiety disorder. The results of this study support the difficulty of regulating emotional excitement and anxiety sensitivity in social anxiety disorder. It seems that avoiding experiencing emotions, thoughts, and moving away from the valuable goals of life, strengthens the psychological flexibility in the social context and behavioral functions of therapists. Studies in various areas have emphasized the neuropsychological basis of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This study aims to evaluate the effect of neurofeedback training (NFT) on quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) baseline and sustained attention in children with ADHD. For this purpose, a quasi-experimental study with the pretest-posttest control group design was conducted on 30 ADHD children selected by convenience sampling method and randomly divided into two experimental groups, namely a Neurofeedback Group and a Sham-controlled Neurofeedback Group (Placebo conditions). The Neurofeedback Group received 30 training sessions for 15 weeks (two sessions per week). The groups were evaluated before, immediately after, and two months after the intervention in terms of the q-EEG baseline and continuous performance. The multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) showed that the Neurofeedback Training Group had a significant improvement in terms of the q-EEG baseline and continuous performance compared to the control group, and these improvements were maintained later. In the Neurofeedback Training Group, the theta wave activity and the theta/beta ratio (TBR) decreased in the posttest scores, and the beta wave activity and the sensorimotor rhythm (SMR) increased significantly in the posttest scores compared to the pre-test ones. In addition, the reaction time, omission error and commission error of the children were significantly lower in the Neurofeedback Training Group in the posttest and follow-up test compared to those of the Sham-controlled Neurofeedback Group. Neurofeedback training seems to improve abnormal q-EEG and is effective in improving the sustained attention of children with ADHD. Manuscript profile

Adolescence, is a critical period which is always associated with the process of identity formation. Part of this growth process is seeking danger which is shown in the shape of unhealthy sexual behavior, alcohol, tobacco and other items. Personality characteristics and parenting styles in the critical period of adolescence can provide a context for an orientation to addiction. The purpose of this study was to present a model to predict the adolescent’s orientation to addiction based on personality characteristics and parenting style. For this purpose, in a descriptive study, 500 boys and girls high school students were randomly selected from Qazvin city. They were tested in terms of orientation towards addiction, five major factors of personality and parenting style. Results of regression analysis indicated that there is a significant difference among the mental-neuroticism, openness to experience, having conscientiousness and parenting styles (Permissive, autocratic, authoritative) with the attitude of students in relation to addiction. Considering the obtained model, with increased scores in these variables, the odds of a positive attitude to substance use will increase. It seems that personality traits and parenting styles have a significant difference with attitudes towards addiction in male and female students. They can be effective in preventing orientation towards addiction. Manuscript profile
