Abstract :

This research aims to examine and evaluate tourists' perspectives and opinions, as well as the factors influencing their satisfaction with visiting the coastal city of Salman-shahr. The study area is limited to Salman-shahr, located in Mazandaran Province. The present research is of an applied nature, and from a methodological perspective, it is a descriptive survey. Data collection was conducted through library and field studies. The statistical population consisted of 350 individuals, selected through convenience sampling. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by professors in geography, cultural heritage and tourism experts, and social sciences specialists. Its reliability was verified using Cronbach's alpha, with a coefficient of 0.812. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software, employing factor analysis, Pearson correlation, and one-sample t-tests. The findings indicate that tourists' satisfaction is primarily influenced by the second environmental quality factor of Salman-shahr, which includes access to the beach, natural scenery, and cleanliness. Comparing the results of this study with initial research findings suggests that the quality of infrastructural facilities and services, along with the behavior of the host community, are among the most significant factors affecting tourist satisfaction. Paying attention to tourists' preferences and opinions can serve as a foundation for planning the sustainable development of coastal tourism and the expansion of related infrastructure. Tourist satisfaction plays a crucial role in the continuity and sustainable growth of coastal tourism, as satisfied tourists are more likely to share positive experiences and revisit the destination. Furthermore, ensuring alignment with governmental and private sector policies is essential for guiding the sustainable development of coastal tourism.
