Abstract :
Micro grids, characterized by local and distributed energy sources, are crucial in the evolution of modern energy systems towards sustainability and resilience. This paper presents a new approach for the optimal performance of microgrids, focusing on the integration of distributed and homogeneous generation resources considering reliability costs. The proposed optimization strategy uses the CPLEX method to efficiently optimize the complex decision-making process inherent in micro grid management. The presented optimization framework deals with the complex interaction between distributed energy resources, load demand and network reliability, aiming to minimize operating costs while ensuring high reliability standards. By including reliability costs in the objective function under optimization, the importance of network flexibility and blackout reduction strategies in micro grid operation is emphasized. Key factors such as renewable energy variability, demand fluctuations, and equipment failures are carefully considered to capture the dynamic nature of microgrid operation. The CPLEX method enables consideration of various constraints and objectives, including power generation constraints by distributed renewable generation sources, energy storage constraints, and reliability thresholds, and facilitates a comprehensive and efficient optimization process. The results of case studies and simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed approach in achieving optimal microgrid operation under various conditions and scenarios.
