        Introduction: This research is a clinical trial with the trial ID 4N20171228038109, which was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of paroxetine on the clinical symptoms of social anxiety, depression, fear of negative evaluation, and quality of life in patients with social anxiety disorder. Method: The statistical population of this research included all those who referred to psychological service centers and private psychiatric offices with the diagnosis of social anxiety disorder in the city of Mashhad. They were selected in a purposeful and available manner and randomly placed in groups. The tools for measuring research variables were evaluated before, after and 3 months after group treatment with Paroxetine drug. Findings: The statistical analysis of the data of the current research by using the statistical method of analysis of variance with repeated measurements shows that, in general, paroxetine has a significant effect (p < 0.05) on the dependent variables.Conclusion: Drug treatment has been significantly effective on most of the sub-components of the dependent variables in the post-test stage, and only in the mean scores of the psychological sub-components, social relations, satisfaction with the life situation, no significant difference can be seen, but in the follow-up stage It has not had a statistically significant effect. In the control group, no significant difference can be seen in the three stages of the test. Manuscript profile
