Investigating the impact of emotional divorce on children's morale and family functioning: a case study Bushehr City

Abstract :
Considering the damage of emotional divorce and the role of this issue on children's mental health, as well as the importance and prevention of its problems for the children of these families, this study aims to investigate the impact of emotional divorce on children's morale and family functioning is accepted. This study is a descriptive-survey type with practical purpose. The statistical population included all the families living in Bushehr in 1402. According to Morgan's table and Cochran's formula, a sample size of 200 families was selected. The samples were selected randomly and the questionnaire was distributed among them. The reliability of the questionnaire was measured using Cronbach's alpha coefficient and considering that the alpha value for all variables was greater than 0.7. SPSS-20 software was used for analysis. The results showed that emotional divorce has a significant effect on children's morale and family functioning. Also, emotional divorce has an effect on children's mood, emotional divorce on family functioning, family functioning on children's mood, and finally, the situation of emotional divorce among households in Bushehr city is higher than the average. Considering the effects of emotional divorce and its destructive causes and consequences on children's mental health and their physical and mental conditions, it can be concluded that women and men should be careful and focused enough to choose the right spouse in the matter of forming a family.
