The effect of schema therapy on sexual satisfaction of married women

Abstract :
Aim: This study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of schema therapy on sexual satisfaction of married women. Metod: The research method was a semi-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group and the statistical method was analysis of covariance. The research population consisted of married women referring to neighborhood shelters in District 11 of Tehran, which were 100 people. First, a cluster of neighborhood shelters in District 11 of Tehran, two neighborhood shelters, was selected, and a questionnaire was given to women voluntarily by installing a banner and public call. 30 volunteers who were eligible were selected and randomly assigned to two groups of 15 people, control and experimental, and the experimental group participated in 10 sessions of schema therapy. The instrument used in the study was the Larson Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire (1998) with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.93, which the two groups answered before the start of the first session and after the end of the last session of schema therapy. Result: Covariance analysis of the data showed that schema therapy had an effect on the sexual satisfaction of married women in District 11 of Tehran. Conclusion: According to the results of the study, it can be recommended to psychologists to use this approach to increase sexual satisfaction in married women.
