Abstract :
A large part of classical Persian literature is devoted to didactic texts. As its name suggests, these works are full of moral teachings and social concepts which are written in the form of fables and stories. The present research by using a descriptive-analytical method is an attempt to answer the question whether educational texts can be used in another educational field like teaching philosophy to children or not. After answering this question, a fable from Kalila and Demeneh has been analyzed on a case-by-case basis, based on the criteria of philosophical thinking of children and teenagers. The examined issues include the main features of philosophical fable such as literary acceptability, psychological acceptability, rational acceptability, argumentative dialogue, and explorability. According to the findings of the research, this fable has literary, philosophical, and psychological capabilitiesThus, through rewriting it in standard language, it is possible to obtain a very good resource for teachers to use it in philosophical thinking classes.
